Luka Romero scored twice for Almeria, Rodrigo De Paul and Ángel Correa each scored for Atletico Madrid in their 2-2 draw.

Romero got his first two goals of the season and now has two goals in three matches for Almeria. With the score at 0-0, Ángel Correa scored from close range to give Atletico Madrid the 1-0 lead.

The 19 year old Romero, who started his first match of the season, scored from outside of the penalty area with his left foot beating Oblak to draw Almeria level. The second half would bring two goals.

Nahuel Molina would clear the ball and cross it to Rodrigo De Paul who would make a run towards Almeria;s penalty area and he would toe poke it to give Atletico the 2-1 advantage.

With Atletico leading 2-1, Romero would get the ball inside the penalty area and with the outside of his left foot, he would score to once more draw Almeria level.

Federico Redondo joins Inter Miami from Argentinos Juniors

Federico Redondo has joined Inter Miami from Argentinos Juniors.

The club from Florida announced his signing today through their social media:

“We have officially signed Argentine U-23 National Team defensive midfielder Federico Redondo to a contract running through the 2027 MLS season, with a club option for 2028.”

Redondo expressed his gratitude to his new club for trusting him and talked about what he can bring to the team due to his characteristics:

“I am thrilled to join a club that is growing so rapidly. I strive to assist my team in controlling possession and act as a link between defense and attack, providing balance both offensively and defensively.”

The 21-year-old also commented about Major League Soccer and its growth:

“The MLS is expanding significantly, and I believe it is on track to become one of the best leagues in the world.”

Argentina to play in Los Angeles and Philadelphia in March

The Argentina national team will play in Los Angeles and Philadelphia in March.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will be playing two matches in the month of March in the United States. The first match will take place against El Salvador on March 22 in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field.

Their second match will be on March 26 against Nigeria in Los Angeles at the LA Memorial Coliseum.

Europa League review: Leandro Paredes and Paulo Dybala advance with Roma

The second leg of the Europa League round of 32 was played this Thursday and six Argentine players participated.

Leandro Paredes and Paulo Dybala advanced with AS Roma to the round of 16 after winning in
penalty kicks against Feyenoord at the Stadio Olimpico. Both legs ended in a 1-1 tie. Paredes scored the first penalty in the shootout and Dybala had to leave the field in the second half due to an injury.

Nicolás Otamendi and Ángel Di María advanced with Benfica to the round of 16 after a 0-0 tie against Toulouse in France. They had won 2-1 in Portugal last week, with Di María scoring the two goals from the penalty spot.

Facundo Medina lost 3-2 with Lens vs. Freiburg in extra time and they were eliminated from the tournament. They had tied 0-0 in the first leg in France.

Mauro Icardi lost 4-1 with Galatasaray vs. Sparta Praga and they were also eliminated. They had won 3-2 in the first leg in Turkey.

Lionel Messi had an assist for Inter Miami in their 2-0 win vs. Real Salt Lake.

Messi and Inter Miami started off their MLS season with a win. The Argentine had several momence of brilliance, one of which was a free kick which was cleared off the line and a second where he dribbled over a player that was down on the pitch.

With the score at 0-0 in the first half, Messi played a pass to Robert Taylor and he would score to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead. The team would celebrate going into the second half.

Inter Miami coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino made several substitutions in the second half, one was Tomás Avilés being substituted out. Minutes after the changes, Messi started a counter attack as he played the ball to Luis Suárez who found Diego Gómez and he scored Inter Miami’s second goal of the match.
