Lanus lose first leg of Copa Libertadores final

Lanus lost the first leg of the Copa Libertadores 1-0 to Gremio.

With the first match being played in Porto Alegre, Lanus had to try and keep the scoreline close if they wanted to have a chance in the second leg. They were able to hold out the Brazilian’s for most of the match but cracked with just 8 minutes to go as Cicero SANTOS scored for Gremio in the 83rd minute.

Argentine born Paraguayan international Lucas BARRIOS started for the Brazilian club while Argentine internationals Lautaro ACOSTA, Jose Luis GOMEZ and Jose SAND started for the Argentinians.

The second leg will be played on Wednesday back in Argentina. Best of luck to the Argentine club!
