Nicolas TAGLIAFICO will reportedly captain the Argentina National Team during their friendly matched against Guatemala and Colombia.
With regular captain and figure of the Argentina team Lionel MESSI taking a break from international duty, TyC Sports are reporting that the Ajax left back will wear the captain’s armband for his country. This coming while veteran goalkeeper Sergio ROMERO not playing.
TAGLIAFICO is no stranger to being a captain as he wore the arm band several times while with old club Independiente.
I see him playing every week here. He is good going forward, but defensively nothing special and often out of position. Remember the Pavard goal against us?
At Ajax he is overshadowed by De Ligt, already Ajax captain at 19. Talented guy who will play at a big club next year.

Romero shouldn’t even be there in this cycle forget being made Captain, Tagliafico deserved it otherwise Pezzella also would be good option. It’s always better to have Defenders as Captain. Passarella, Ayala, Zanetti, Sorin… A commanding position.
My prediction was Tagliafico going to be Captain if selecting one from young batch. And Romero if they go for experience.
Playing best X1 against Colombia will be good idea.
