  1. Paredes is only their 3nd option behind De Jong and Gueye. Strange that the French journalists haven’t mentioned much Paredes so far, we know that De Jong and Gueye won’t go to PSG but they only said Tuchel is happy to have Alves playing as 6, which is not a stupid idea(successful conversion for Lahm and Kimmich). So I wonder if it’s a rumour again set up by his agent. On the other side, Verratti will be off for long time, they should now regret having let go Lo Celso.

But I’m happy if true for Paredes, at zenit, his career will go nowhere, now at least he has some exposure and can play 10 high level games per season. His style of play is perfect with fast players like Neymar and Mbappe, I also believe in his partnership with Verratti and Di Maria in the midfield. Besides, training with role model players like Cavani and Buffon on daily basis, it’s just priceless for any football player.

    • Yes and no, in the regista position, Jorginho’s performance was actually quite poor against any big team in EPL. Pochettino was the 1st coach who realized that, to beat Chelsea, just need to put a maximum of pressure on Jorginho. When he lost control on the game, no chance that Chelsea can come back because he’s the key in Sarri’s system. Other midfielders are just ok in their role except Kante, who is the only indispensable midfielder to me. Paredes is a better 6 than Jorginho and at least as good as Kovacic, Loftus-Cheek and Barkley(all are very talented) for the number 8 position. Of course EPL is more interesting to him but I can understand he may want to secure his playing time.
