Argentina lost 2-1 to Ecuador in their first match of the second round at the Sudamericano.

For the second time in the tournament, Argentina were unable to defeat Ecuador. Fernando BATISTA’s boys took a 1-0 lead through Thiago ALMADA’s deflected free kick. However, the lead didn’t last too long as just 11 minutes later, CAMPANA drew Ecuador level.

ALMADA’s free kick wasn’t the only one of the match as CHARCOPA scored one of his own in the second half. Fausto VERA of Argentina would get himself sent off just minutes after that.

The next match for Argentina is on Friday against Colombia.

  1. I told you….
We aren’t producing talents like we used to.
Saw the first game against Paraguay and was like, nope, this team isn’t going anywhere.

I’ve said it a million times, I’ll say it once again…

Messi, Higuain, Zabaleta, Di Maria, Gago, Garay, Demichelis, Mascherano, Banega, etc
If this GOLD GENERATION failed, what makes you even believe this MEDIOCRE one will win THE World Cup?

This “NEW” generation failed at the Olympics 2016, failed at the U-20 FIFA World Cup 2017, and are not playing good now.
The real test for this U-20 Squad will be against Brazil, but let’s be honest, they are not even playing good either.
And if we’re playing bad here among st our own, what makes you think we’ll beat the European U-20 teams?

I’m not being pessimistic, just realistic. There’s a difference.

  2. Saw part of the game… It’s very difficult to be optimistic for the future arg football in the mid-long term, looking how poorly the kids play… ironically, close to what the senior team was playing during the past summer.
