Reports are coming out that CONMEBOL could be sanctioning Lionel MESSI for two years following his comments against South America’s governing body.

Lionel MESSI could miss all of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for Argentina as well as next year’s Copa America which will be held in Argentina.

  1. If we have a proper coach now, he can at least try his options for the upcoming friendlies. By playing the waiting game with Scaloni, AFA is again wasting precious time.

Imagine a new coach appointed next year start and he taking the side straight to the Qualifiers?and looks like Messi will be in trouble.

Considering Messi situation we can’t delay the new coach appointment.

  2. If Organization make decision to use the VAR , then they should use it all the game and not to support the team they like and ignore others. If Referee used the VAR then there would not be any controversy. The game could end with 1-0 or whatever, but it could be fare. The Fucking Conmebol should stop support one side and be fare for all the teams and players. They are fucking destroying the sports.

  3. It’s no doubt, Argentina’s two World Cup triumphs were without any controversy. The ’78 one with the alleged dictator influence and ’86 with the Diego handball. No one can dispute that. But the talk nowadays is on the “post VAR” controversies, these all happened in “pre VAR” era. There’s no point in discussing pre VAR Barca/ Real UCL controversies with that of this post VAR Copa 19 scandal. It’s preposterous.

And it’s also absurd to say that Brasil gets all the favours in CONEMBOL as well as in FIFA tournaments. Some of it may be like you said, but not always, no. If FIFA favours Brasil all the time, then what happened in the Swiss game and the Belgium game last WC with “VAR” in use?! There were ample reasons to chop off the Swiss equalizer and award Brasil a penalty when Kompany appeared to have fouled his City teammate Jesus. But they didn’t. So please be reasonable when it comes to these kind of allegations, not just make accusations out of pure hate.
If we’re to consider the recent CONMEBOL treatment, then what happened in that Peru game in Copa 16?! I know it was before VAR, so ref made a mistake.

  4. These CONMEBOL pigs banning LEO just proves the fact of how corrupt they are even more!🤣 Fuck CONMEBOL, UEFA please help us lmao!

    • I get that the decisions are effed up but this is the classic “thief steals from thief”. AFA are no freaking saints. The entire governing bodies of global futbol are all corrupt bastards but this time it goes against Arg.

      • not this time my friend.
        always is going against Argentina.
the only they can say to use against us was about 1978.
but it was not about AFA back then.
it was about the dictatorship of Videla.
in end who suffer the most was Argentinian people and nobody else.
the rest is just excuses of our enemies.

  5. Nice to talk to you as well Richard and i also miss Jack and especially my friend Pablo, where are you amigo, i hope you are well my friend.

  6. Richard as far as i know, i may be mistaken though, Passarella and Luque did not deny anything but they didn’t admit anything either. Quite many allegations were claimed for that game but nothing was clear.
On the other hand, we are talking about controversial challenges here where anyone can verify them through a replay and not just for allegations.
    Check documentaries about wcs 90, 94, 02.

  7. @ Waveride, good to see a post from you. Too many of the old gang like you, Pablo and Jack don’t post anymore.

Scroll down for a link on the WC 78 doc. Fast forward to the journalist, Luque and Passarella interviews. See some of the worst defending ever from Peru.

  8. ha ha ha Conmebol pigs please do that yes ha ha ha.
after we will see who will be the real loser from one move like this ha ha ha

maybe it is the time somebody wake up Tapia and say to him that Conmabol open war to Argentina.

but sorry what i am saying now…..
Tapia and Angelici have more important things to do right now.
the real enemy to fight is River plate.

is it that so mr Tapia and mr Angelici?

  9. Norwich City sign a new deal with Emiliano Buendia until 2024. I hope he improves and shows his talent in the premier league this season.
Former Real Madrid and Getafe youth product. Currently just 22.
He has got good right and left leg, good defensively and more good offensively. Ball control also seems good. If he continues to improve and consistent…he’s not far from NT.

  10. Richard, “payback” for the game against Peru in wc 78?
Maybe i don’t remember that well but was there really any controversional incident that favoured as during that game? Because i don’t remember any, on the other hand i remember that while the scoreline was still 0-0 Peru had a really good chance by hitting the post. So what they hit the post on purpose?

Don’t get me wrong, this is not an attack comment towards you, on the contrary i really like and respect your views, i am just asking you why you said that.

On the other hand, if i would start talking about the shitty yellow team’s controversial incidents, i will be able to write a whole book! They are way too guilty throughout all these years not only for numerous obvious controversial incidents but for too small and minor calls throughout games favouring them, even draws! For example, can you recall a single fucking time that Brazil had a tough, let alone group of death, group in a wc?

If other countries from conmebol want payback, they should demand it from those pathetick thieves, not us!

    • my friend things is as you say.
not book but BOOKS !!! i am just bored to start write.
from where to start and where to arrive with those shitty yellow…

    • Last year there was a documentary on WC 1978. They interviewed players from Peru about the 6-1 loss and they admitted that they were told not to do their best. Someone from the Videla regime was in the dressing room. Then they interviewed Leopoldo Luque and Passarella about that game and they did not deny that the victory was suspicious. Menotti declined an interview.

  11. Just hypethetacly saying, Let’s say they ban Messi for 2 years! Wouldn’t FIFA or any other organisation should come and investigate the situation. Investigate the match between Varsil against Argentina that how dodgy was VAR? Let alone VAR they didn’t even reply the Aguero incident again? Have any of you seen the reply during the game?NO! Because they didn’t even show the reply. So my point is should not FIFA come forward to see that matter. Afterall it is Messi.

  12. Please people stop to talk about Argentina joining UEFA and playing Euro. This is not virtual reality. As long as it is not, Argentina is in South America. Even being Argentina fan I don’t want to see them playing Euro. Europe is Europe. This is not virtual reality of FIFA playstation 2050.

It’s CONMEBOL should adopt UEFA standards and not UEFA adopt Argentina.

Another illusion is talking about Mourinho as our manager.

    Please more touch with reality.

    • I know some big Messi fans are desperated not to see Messi being banned (the more he even didn’t deserved for red card) but you should not use UEFA as cap pistol for AFA.

      • They re in day dream Argentina will
        Never leave from the CONMEBOL
The things happened no need to
Cry anymore we all should move
        Forward. CONMEBOL need Argentina
        Without Argentina Will be nothing.
Now it’s new page looking forward
        In the future.

    • SCALONI is a decent coach but if Mourinho(he rejected multi million offer form a chinese club and wants a new challenge in his life ) is available then why not.there are many nations who have taken a foreign coach and have improved tremendously for eg Colombia FA but if not possible then it is better for AFA to stick with SCALONI for continuity SAKE

  13. According to some rumours CESAR MENOTTI IS PLANNING TO QUIT AS DIRECTOR OF NT DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS AND AFA DECISION TO EXTEND SCALONIs’ CONTRACT TILL DECEMBER EVEN THOUGH SCALONI MADE ARGENTINA REACH SEMIS OF COPA 2019 IF AFA WANTS TO REPLACE SCALONI THEN HIRE A GOOD MANAGER WITH GOOD EUROPE EXPERIENCE LIKE MOURINHO. EVEN COLOMBIA FA MANAGED TO GET A PORTUGAL MANAGER AS THEIR COACH SO MAYBE EVEN AFA COULD HIRE MOURINHO (NOT MONEY HUNGRY PERSON BUT WANTS A CHALLENGE IN HIS LIFE)BUT ONLY ON THE CONDITION THAT SCALONI AND HIS STAFF BECOME ASSISTANTS OF MOURINHO IT COULD BE ALSO GOOD FOR SCALONI AND HIS STAFF IN LONG RUN THEY WILL GET TO LEARN FROM ONE OF THE BEST FOOTBALL MANAGERS IN HISTORY OF FOOTBALL i.e MOURINHO( WON UCL WITH MEDICORE TEAMS AND MADE A MEDIOCRE MAN UTD WIN UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE AND MADE REAL MADRID REACH SEMIS OF UCL AND BREAKING THEIR ROUND OF 16 EXIT CURSE IN UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE)

    • Dude I know you have big obsession with Mourinho but he is outdated. Last time he reach CL final? almost a decade ago. Since then Guardiolla, Zidane and Simeone has been more successfull.

  14. Not going to happen. Messi is known for his good attitude inside and outside the field. As already been mentioned… banning Messi will only degrade CONMEBOL credibility massively. These days everyone can watch replay and highlight videos on internet over and over and see Messi did nothing wrong.

  15. If CONMEBOL dare to ban Messi for 2 years then definitely UEFA will officially invite AFA to join them it will be a good business opportunity for them to include Argentina in Uefa Nations League and maybe even in future euros also and in that case AFA hopefully join UEFA it will be better for entire Argentine Football because even if CONMOBEL dosent ban Messi they might take more revenge from AFA and Messi by using refrees to make sure that Argentina NT dosent Copa 2020 and dosent qualify for WC 2022 so it is better for AFA to request UEFA to let them join their confederation as soon as possible to save Argentine Football

  16. Afa is pressing conmabel to release the audio of VAR in the game v brazil so far they are ignoring that. Conmabel is also in tough spot as they can’t release that embarrassing audio.
Like i said in another blog conmabel will ignore as much as they can. I expect messi to get may be 2 game ban and economic fine.

  17. Some countries in Conmebol will see it as payback time. E.g. Argentina bribed Peru in 1978 to lose big (6-1) so they could make it to the final.

Biggest issue: Without Grondona the AFA does not have any pull in Conmebol. Since he died our influence is minimal.

    • this game had nothing to do except about us Peru and Brasil.
the other Conmebol countries don t have any interest about what happened in that game in 1978.

about the other issue you speak the truth.
Grondona and Tapia is like you try compare the size of one elephant and one fry.
      you can t compare.

  18. Some people are bringing up the incidents from Chelsea vs Barca match in 2009, when Chelsea got hit badly in CL due to referee’s wrong decision making … Cannot understand really what Messi was supposed to do there, and also there was no video referral rule that time, so you had to trust the judgement of the referee.

I don’t think CONMEBOL will give a ban to Messi for 2 years as the world has seen what has happened and everyone knows what Messi said is absolutely correct . Penalizing him for being honest will jeopardize their credibility even more, which is already under serious threat. A ban for max 2-3 months will be probably given, which means he can’t participate in the upcoming friendlies , which anyways, I think Messi won’t have played…CONMEBOL won’t risk to host a copa america in Argentina without Lionel Messi, as he is the topmost crowd puller in the world of football

  19. UEFA has said they will be more than happy to have AFA join them. This will be a blessing in disguise for us and when we leave for good, CONMEBOL will be nothing more than a African or Asian football federation!! I say lets go to Europe!!

  20. If true, we have seen Messi’s last game as international.
The red card was his final salute, just like with Zidane.

Let’s hope it is limited to 4-6 games.

    • More like 2-3 games max!
He wasn’t even the aggressor for the red card against Chile.

And his comments would get him maybe 2 games max, like Neymar for the Champions League Rant after PSG elimination.

      • There is always hope. Messi retired from the NT before. Now Conmebol will make the decision for him.

  21. where is fifa now?fifa should investigate this corrupted conmebol.if messi get’s banned then it will be disaster for conmebol.that’s why i think conmebol doesn’t do it.

  22. If that happen then AFA should leave CONMEBOL and joined any other zone AFA like..then we all see that how CONMEBOL survive through financially …

  23. Greedy CONMEBOL is never going ban him , Messi only attracts half of the audience in south america. They are just trying to threaten him but AFA should stay stiff on this.

  24. That’s never going to happen.

Remember when he got suspended for insulting the referee against Chile in the World Cup Qualifiers?
He was supposed to get a 4 game ban or something like that but only missed 1 through ban after they shorted his punishment?

    He’ll be fine! He’s Messi!
