Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni is expected to announce his first World Cup qualifying list by September 20 with Lionel Messi missing the first match.

Lionel Scaloni’s team are set to host Ecuador at La Bombonera on October 8 with the second match on October 13 in La Paz against Bolivia. For the opening match against Ecuador, the team will be without captain Lionel Messi who is suspended and a doubt could be Nicolas Gonzalez who has a muscular problem.

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is rumored to receive his first call to the team.

    Bench : Icardi – Lautaro – Dybala – Papu Gomez – Buendia – Palacios – Lisandro Martinez – Tagliafico – Otamendi – Saravia – Musso – Andrada

    • That’s a good 11 but Lautaro is starting no doubt at all Aguero/Ocampos LW Messi RW and Lautaro/Dybala ST…more like the one we saw against Brazil and Uruguay in December and its better to not change the squad too much… consistency is the key

He already received first call up last October. Has not made debut yet.

  3. Roberto Pereyra over Papu Gomez..no words..One who is consistent for almost three years over an injury prone highly inconsistent and from a relegated team is highly insane..all our coaches are gays it seems..

  4. Hello my fanmates!
Firstly, I’m proud of being fan and lover of Argentina! Then, I would like to say I’m glad of returning of Conmebol world cup qualification!
I remember the last one was a battle, but I hope this one will be led with us (La Albicelste). KAGAME Richard from Rwanda.

      • That’s what is worrying me. I just don’t understand how and on what basis scaloni would call him up, doesn’t matter even if it is a predicted list or preliminary list. Buendia, barco or even de la Vega and almada will be a ton better option for him, cause they need that chances badly.

I seriously don’t know what I’m goona see on Sept 20. It’s bizzare.

        • Basically relegated Buendía vs relegated Pereyra, Buendía better all days if the year! I want to start seeing him as soon as possible. I hope it’s not going to be another Papu Gomez or in form Rulli. I also don’t know why larger clubs aren’t looking at Buendía. Only Leeds but they never made a move. He could well play at an Arsenal or Everton. He is better than Todd Cantwell. If he does not leave Norwich I hope they get promoted again.

Luka Romero had possibly snubbed Spain for Argentina, as he clearly stated both the AFA and Pablo Aimar of his intentions and long term dream of representing the La Albiceleste. The news was confirmed by Bernardo Romeo.

That’s what i was expecting from him; a true Argentine indeed. These jackals thought that they would pull a similar move on Romero just like they did with Messi in the past. But you know, argentines are always Argentine at heart.
I hope the kid keeps his head down and work his way up to both his club success and NT career.

Great decision and maturity shown by the kid. Vamos 🇦🇷🇦🇷

  6. Lionel Scaloni please select Emiliano Martinez he is one of the best,he just need some backing. He is world class out there.I think Emi Martinez,Palomino and Papu Gomez deserves the call.

    • Yep. Plus we’ve seen that Musso has more minutes, but Martinez plays better. So why not try out Martinez for a game against Ecuador? It’s obviously an easy game.

    • LOL, Emi Martinez ability wise better than Neuer, Courtious, Tar Stegen, Allison but in doubt for Argentina selection. Don’t worry He will get called up but behind the picking order of Andrada/Musso.

      • Well my point is that he SHOULD try a single game for Ecuador. Whether Scaloni considers him first is irrelevant. Either way Musso is still amazing so it’s hard to lose.
