La Liga supports clubs in not releasing players for South American World Cup qualifiers

La Liga are supporting the clubs who refuse to release their players for September’s South American World Cup qualifiers.

After news of the Premier League unanimously voting not to release their players for September’s matches, La Liga have released a statement with a similar message. In addition to Argentina missing four Premier League players, they would miss nine La Liga players.

For Argentina, they would be without Gerónimo Rulli, Gonzalo Montiel, Germán Pezzella, Juan Foyth, Marcos Acuña, Rodrigo De Paul, Guido Rodríguez, Papu Gómez and Ángel Correa. This, along with Emiliano Martinez, Cristian Romero, Gio Lo Celso and Emiliano Buendia of the Premier League.

  1. Even if all the clubs in England, Italy, Spain, Germany and France decided to stop players from playing SA WC Qualifiers. We would still have Messi, DiMaria and Paredes available. Remember the clause in Messi’s Contract? Argentina first. And I am sure Messi will manage to bring Paredes and ADM along. So when the sitution is the same for all the SA teams in the Qualifiers in Sept, we still have the advantage with Messi, ADM and Paredes with local players. I think we should play and take this advantage over Brazil.

  2. Solution: Qualifiers should be played by former/retired players.

Nah but in all seriousness, they should cancel. Moving forward players need to put stipulations in their contracts to prevent clubs from preventing NT duties.

  3. Goalkeepers:
    Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa)●W.Benitez
    Franco Armani (River Plate)
    Juan Musso (Atalanta)
    Geronimo Rulli (Villarreal)●
    3 goalkeeper is enough

    Gonzalo Montiel (Sevilla)●Palomino
    Nahuel Molina Lucero (Udinese)
    German Pezzella (Real Betis)●F.Medina
    Juan Foyth (Villarreal)● Senesi
    Cristian Romero (Tottenham Hotspur)● Balerdi
    Nicolas Otamendi (Benfica)
    Lucas Martinez Quarta (Fiorentina)
    Lisandro Martinez (Ajax)
    Marcos Acuna (Sevilla)●
    Nicolas Tagliafico (Ajax)

Rodrigo De Paul (Atletico Madrid)●R. PEREYRA
    Exequiel Palacios (Bayer Leverkusen)
    Leandro Paredes (Paris Saint-Germain)
    Guido Rodriguez (Real Betis)● ASCACIBAR
    Nicolas Dominguez (Bologna)
    Giovani Lo Celso (Tottenham Hotspur)●
    Alejandro Papu Gomez (Sevilla)●

    Angel Di Maria (Paris Saint-Germain)
    Angel Correa (Atletico Madrid)●G.Simeone
    Julian Alvarez (River Plate)
    Joaquin Correa (Lazio)
    Nicolas Gonzalez (Fiorentina)
    Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa)●
    Lautaro Martinez (Inter)
    Lionel Messi (Paris Saint-Germain)
    Paulo Dybala (Juventus)

    What are the options now…

    • Serie A will be the next…maybe Khelaifi will let Messi, Di Maria and Paredes, cause he doesnt want to quarrel with Messi in the first minute and Messi wants to play, this is our luck.

      • Armani—Ortega (Angileri is injured)—Rojo-Izqiuerdoz (at least they play together in Boca)-Bustos—Nacho Fernandez-(Paredes)/Vera-Zaracho—Thiago Almada/Matias Suarez-(Messi)/Julian Alvarez-(Di Maria)/Pavon.

    • How many times will we have to cancel them then? The Brazil qualifier was already supposed to be played in march. So frustrating that this constantly happens and these english football brands are given the authority to decide what to do with OUR players and OUR national team.

      • Yes postponing games are allways frustrated to the fans, but even more to players themself’s… now la Liga went with same decission so it must come from not only from the clubs who has the money, but i think it has to do with people from higher up who benefit the most by having theee best players playing for their clubs no matter if it is England or Spain even Italy might ultimatly be forced to same decission as this decisdion is based purely on money so that those people who benefit the most out of English premier league, Championship or La Liga from Spain as they must be globally the 2 most leagues after championsleague and maybe also europaleague which people are following via TV or internet as they have the allmost most expensive players on the market exept some like (PSG and some Italian teams like Juventus, Inter, Napoli, Roma, Milan, Lazio and Atalanta etc… and Ofcourse teams from Germany as Bayern and Dortmund etc…) and all of this make’s me to think if Italy, Germany and even France in the end will be forced to similar decission as this people behind theese decission’s care only about money so they are affraid that they will loose their money as things will get more bad with Covid spreadding in Europe which will end up ultimatly everybody in the bublle again and theese bubbles somehow must lower their incomes and drop their benefit’s which is offcourse money making they way or another with European football leagues…sounds a bit complicated, but nowdays football leagues are allready brand and also their teams and even their players are so everything is just brand that every brand want’s to protect it at any cause to not loose money so there should be direct line in between the brand football and International Football so that every time it is turn for international football those brands will be strictly left behind !
But, as we see this is not clearly anymore at least even if it ever been , because FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL are also clearly joining ”the brand wagon” or they have allready done that ! That is why everything is such a mess and clear example of this was the Euro final and also games played in Hungary at the Euros as some people clearly paid of for Hungarians to let full house to their stadium when any game at Euro’s were played there as this was not the case in ROME or in Munich for example and i think most of country’s followed their country’s decission of how many people will be let to the stadiums offcourse UEFA had agree with this with EU and had made it also of a rule of themself, but as we saw it did not work in Hungary or at Wembley even England been constantly one of the most countries in Europe with so many Covid Cases and with so much Covid going around…. i don’t know what to say anymore about anything really all this sucks big time and really sad to see things like this to happen even it is nothing new to me as corruption has allways existed also around football as long i remember though as young kid long time ago it was very hard thing to understand and to accept, but luckily, because of my old man i did finally understand at 1990 WC in Italy was the first time i accept it even though it so hard for me as from 1978 i had a different picture of it until 1990 and well after that it really kicked of more an more with different ways though Still loving to see our beloved Albiceleste to play against anyone as the feeling for that will never change inside me never matter how much of corruption and politics&moneythicks will be around…
