Bernardo Romeo spoke about the Argentina youth team project and scouting.

Romeo is the Argentina youth national team coordinator and in an interview with DSportsRadio, has commented about several things related to the team. Having spoken about Alejandro Garnacho’s decision to play for Argentina, Romeo also revealed the team’s scouting plan.

He spoke about calling up Sevilla’s U17 goalkeeper to the Argentina U17 team. Here is what he had to say:

“Lorenzo (Luchino) is playing with Sevilla, we were following him and we contacted them for the U17 team. Very interesting work was done with the scouting department.

“When we started the scouting project, we planned it in two parts. The first part was in Europe and the second part were the MLS players, there are a lot of Argentines there too.”

Luchino saved a penalty for the Argentina U17 team on March 15 in their 1-1 draw vs. Paraguay.

He also spoke about Javier Mascherano and the vacant Argentina U20 national team coaching job:

“Mascherano’s case is very difficult. We are missing one final talk to try to turn the situation around. I understand that it’s very complicated for him to continue.

“There are various names for the U20 coaching job. We have to talk with Lionel (Scaloni), who is the head of the project.

“We are worried about the U23 team for the (lack of) time and for the upcoming Olympic games.”

  1. Pep prefers Rodri Bernardo type of midfielders….. our McAllister is a different breed… I think Pep is looking for a backup… as a ManCity fan I still want him to go to a club where he will be regular go- to playmaker not a backup.

  2. There will be no shortage of suitors for Alexis Mac Allister come the end of the season but #ManCity have the #BHAFC midfielder in their sights with Pep Guardiola a keen admirer Via @GerGarciaGrova

What a rise for this guy it’s almost certain he will play big club in the epl next season.
