Alan Varela has joined FC Porton a five year contract.
Varela becomes the latest Argentine player to make the jump over to Europe, signing a five year deal with the Portuguese giants, joining them from Boca Juniors. The 22 year old midfielder was being linked with a move and the club made the announcement on Wednesday.
The Argentine spoke to FC Porto’s official website. Here is what he had to say:
“I’m very happy to be joining a club as big as FC Porto and I’m looking forward to meeting my new team mates and getting to the know club’s facilities… I feel very happy. “The stadium is beautiful, I can’t wait to play here and I’m going to start working straight away to see if I’m worthy of my manager’s trust by the weekend.”
FC Porto released a video announcing Varela as they showed clips of Lucho González, Lisandro López and Agustín Marchesín, all playing for the club.
