Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola confirms Julián Álvarez discomfort

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Julián Álvarez has some discomfort.

Guardiola spoke on Friday and revealed that the 23 year old is not fully fit and that is why he did not play more in their UEFA Cup match against Sevilla. With quotes courtesy of City_Xtra via ManCityMEN, here is what Guardiola had to say:

“Julián [Álvarez] had a problem, discomfort, otherwise he would’ve played [vs Sevilla]. He’s becoming so important and only managed to play in Greece for 15/20 minutes. Incredible penalty-taker. In terms of personality, that’s why he played…”

Álvarez was brought on for the last five minutes of their match against Sevilla on Wednesday and did play the entire match against Burlney in the Premier League.

  1. He will get a lot of chances this year. This should be a breakout year for him. Only thing I am worried about is fitness and what position. Pep has history of converting players from Messi, Mascherano, Lahm and many others. We are short on strikers. Hope he stays close to the goal and be the roaming forward around Halaand.
