Argentina reached its historical peak in the Elo Rating (2169 points) after the 2-0 victory against Peru
Its previous best score was 2158 points in a 3-0 victory over Brazil in 1957.
Highest ratings ever:
2230 Hungary in 1954
2223 Germany in 2014
2216 England in 1912
2195 Brazil in 2022
2169 Argentina in 2023
2165 Spain in 2010
With all that has been going on in the world for the past two weeks, one has to try to escape at least mentally and last night’s game was a very pleasant remedy.
Watching ARGENTINA play last night was like watching some other team playing and wishing it was ARG, confident, crisp quick passing, defensive wall where everybody rushes to cover the gaps whenever they open up……..funny I should say that since they are World Champions but they’re improving as a whole with unmistakable chemistry.
Look up this video on Youtube. “Argentina is EVERYTHING Brazil is not! – Ale Moreno | ESPN FC”
The maximum number of players from Colombia. Bit surprised.
