  1. Some fans, mostly CR7 fans, believe Ballon d’Or is to reward the highest goalscorer. That’s why they invented Gerd Muller trophy, the consolation prize for not being the best player. Haaland won it this year, we now know 100% for sure Messi will win his eight.

  2. After the success of both Tagliafico and Licha at Ajax, It would have seemed Ajax would go for more Argentines. They did so. First Bica defender Malagalan, he failed. Lucas Ocampos came on loaned and failed to even find playing time. This season they signed Avila, rated so highly at Boca. He has been crucified left right and centre by the Ajax press and fans alike. He is going through a horror time.
Barcelona are seriously monitoring Alan Varela and Liverpool and Inter will have scouts watch Copa Libertadores final, Liverpool watching Equi Fernandez and Inter Cristian Medina.

    • Unless Man city has finalized its plans to rope in Valentin(Haven’t read anything from Fab so far that would suggest a concrete outcome), scouts should be out there for him. Have you heard anything about him moving to City in the Jan window? And I think Liverpool scouts would have a keen eye on Andre Trindade as well, so all the more reason for Equi to excel in the final.

    • Would be an excellent replacement in the RW, now that Fideo is in the twilight of his career. What I hear is that he could be called back by Juventus in the mid transfer window, is there any truth to this?

  3. Not all the youngsters can grow to superstars like Alvarez and Enzo. We should give up on those frauds like Almada and Luka Romero at this moment, and focus on more promising players like Varela and Soule.

    • There are only two certainties in life, 1) death, and 2) that Karl will somehow manage to incorporate the words “fraud” and “Almada” into his comment no matter the topic, day, or year

    • Why would he be a fraud? Everyone knows Thiago Almada is too good to be wasted away in MLS. He wants to make a switch to Europe, but his release clause would not make it easy at all. Yes, he should have a full season in Europe to have a substantial upgrade, yes he should prove his mettle in a tougher league. But, if Messi and Scaloni see something in that kid, they sure as hell are more qualified than most people to make that judgement. So, please keep the trust and support the players rather than bashing them at every opportunity.
