Bologna have reached an agreement with Vélez for Santiago Castro.
Per reports by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio from Sky Sports, the 19-year-old striker will join Bologna on a five-year contract. As stated in an official announcement by the Argentina Football Association, the player left the U-23 national team on Wednesday and traveled to Buenos Aires with AFA president Claudio Tapia and Doctor Fernando Rudi to undergo a medical check-up.
Castro will return to Venezuela and train again with his Argentina teammates this Friday.
You have a contract as the national team coach until the 2026 World Cup. How do you envision the Argentine national team when Messi, Di María, and Otamendi are no longer there?
Lionel Scaloni; “Eventually, there comes a time when legends like Maradona, Ruggeri, and other great players leave the Argentine national team, yet Argentina continues. It will hurt a lot because they are great players who have given so much, but we have the obligation, beyond Leo or Maradona, as the Argentine national team has always been powerful. We’ll face the challenge of remaining competitive without them. That’s where we need to aim – building a team equally competitive with other players when they are no longer here. We must envision it and set goals for when they’re not around.” @marca
Alvarez absolutely failed to capitalize on Haaland’s long absence due to injury and with KDB back along with Doku, Graelish and Haaland soon coming back , his playing mins is going to be reduced significantly.
Havnt commented in some time, couple things:
Argentina playing in Landover Maryland this summer before Copa. I’m very familiar with this cursed stadium. Hopefully none of the curse rubs off on our boys.
2. Who seen the new jerseys. Yuk. I mean what the f. Is this how we are rewarded by Adidas for winning the world cup?? . Maybe the first Argentina jersey since world cup 2010 that I’m not buying.
3. Echeverri to man city?!?!! Next year he leaves river for a team that is really hard to get play time for. I hope this is the right move.
He might be loaned to Girona in January 2025 after he completes his time at river plate
Liverpool are linked with Roberto De Zerbi and Xabi Alonso. Mac Allister can play under both of these coaches very well. If Alonso joined Liverpool he may bring Palacios with him.
Our possible CBs in Scaloni’s pecking order for Copa:
1. Otamendi (like it or not)
2. Cuti
3. Licha
4. Pezzella
5. LMQ (CB-RB)
6. Foyth (CB-RB)
7.Nehuen Perez
8. Facundo Medina
9. Senesi
10. Balerdi
I think it’s more like:
1. Cuti RCB, Otamendi LCB
2. Pezzella RCB, Licha LCB
3. LMQ RCB, LCB, RB, Foyth RB RCB
4. Perez RCB, Medina LCB
4. Balerdi RCB, Senesi LCB
Senesi is serious good ,I watched him closely
No rush no mistake prone, good height, left-footed good with the ball, good passing range, decent speed
I see him very slow, old otamendiesque.
Spot on Csabalala…. I have also problem with Senesi pace…he’s to slow ….
I get Otamendi sticking around but Pezzella has never really done much. Haven’t been a fan since he joined. LMQ or Foyth should be starting RCB back up
🔵🇦🇷 Napoli will pay €16m fee plus €2m add-ons to Udinese for Nehuén Pérez. The agreement is at final stages as revealed yesterday.
Nehuén will sign a four-year deal with option for further season at Napoli.
Details to be sealed shortly then here-we-go.
Fabrizio Romano,
This move to Napoli for Pérez will automatically upgrade his chances to go to copa America and be regular member of the squad if he continues to perform well .
It will be between senesi medina LMQ pezzela foyth and perez… Any 1 from these 6.
Why Pezella 😭😭😭?
Even though Napoli is abit of a mess right now, I still think this is a solid move. Perez is excellent and I see him and Medina as an excellent backup CB pair for the NT.
As for Castro, well I haven’t seen much of him but Bologna is a solid team under the guidance of Motta and he’ll get his chance to prove himself.
