  1. Alvarez is on bench for 3rd game in a row! This is what happens when you failed to capitalize when starters are out injured. Haaland was gone for over 2months and he scored 2 epl goals in that time and was outperformed by Foden and Doku, both are in starting line up. Hopefully he gets some mins off the bench and shoots at the goal and just doesn’t look for someone to pass all the time.

    • What are you talking about? Alvarez is AM/SS/CF. The best CF itw is Haaland, the best AM itw is De Bruyne. Simple. Doku/Grealish/Foden are wingers. They are all capable to beat defenders one on one, Alvarez not. The main reason Julian could play in 8 was his phenomenal pressing, in this regard statistically the sky high best in TOP5 leagues.

      • What I am talking about is He has been out of form form for very long and has lost Pep’s trust to be a starter! Yea he might have 25g/a but it is not enough at City, their standards are high. City can’t afford to lose any match and which is why Pep has stopped rotation. Alvarez has played in both Doku and Foden’s position multiple times. Expectations from Alvarez in this blog is very low. Everyone is happy as long as he plays 10mins a match and an odd full match. If Argentina is to maintain its dominance our ace players need to fight with the very best of the world, not let be their backups.

          • Alvarez has definitely played as both right winger & a left winger and as a attacking mid behind the striker. The reason he looks like he has been given a no8 role is because he doesn’t have the freedom like Haaland to wait upfront. He has to press when City loses possession and evidently Pep has strictly instructed him to look for better options for passing before shooting and that has dried up his goals.

      • Álvarez definitely not a winger. He can play as striker or second striker, maybe attacking mid. Problem is that City have 4 players for that role in Haaland, De Bruyne, Foden, Bernardo.

Álvarez looked sharp today but his minutes will always be limited unless De Bruyne and/or Bernardo leave. Be better if he moved to another club to be the main striker.

    • Julian has 15 goals and 9 assists in all comepetition this season playing in various positions outside his preferred one. He also has played more minutes than any other Mancity player apart from Ederson and Foden, hence I’d say that Alvarez is doing just fine.

      • Just fine is not enough! The standard here at mundo is too low. Everyone is convinced Alvarez is not better than Doku, Foden, Haaland, Silva.

        • He is better than all u mentioned interns of goal scoring and neatly as good as them in creating chances, where as much better than Haland as fully-featured striker.
