Atletico Madrid eliminate Inter, Lautaro Martínez misses penalty in shootout

Atletico Madrid eliminated Inter in the Champions League Round of 16 penalty shootout.

Diego Simeone’s team made it to the next round of the Champions League following a 1-1 draw and a penalty shootout win against Inter. Lautaro Martínez started the match for Inter with Nahuel Molina and Rodrigo De Paul both starting the match for Atletico Madrid

Molina and De Paul were both substituted out and did not take part in the penalty shootout but Ángel Correa was substituted on and did kick. The scire was at 1-1 and it went to penalty kicks.

Ángel Correa was was the next to kick for Atletico Madrid and he scored to give them the 3-1 lead going into a potential last kick for Inter. Lautaro Martinez stepped up for Inter and his effort went high and he missed with Atletico Madrid winning and advancing to the next round.
