Alejandro Garnacho set to start for Argentina, more changes expected

Alejandro Garnacho is set to start for the Argentina national team for the first time with more changes expected in the starting eleven.

Garnacho is likely to be in the starting eleven for Argentina against Costa Rica. Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni mentioned at a press conference on Monday that Garnacho starting is a possibility for Tuesday’s match.

Lionel Scaloni also mentioned that Ángel Di María will start and that he wants to give the chance to Walter Benítez to play. According to Gastón Edul, Nahuel Molina, Nicolás Otamendi, Alexis Mac Allister and Julián Álvarez will also start, in addition to Garnacho.

    We lost 3 0 but i beleive this game was an experimentation to new players. We’ve put our B team.
    Nico Paz is worthless so is vega the number 3 on the left back for sure he should not be called.
    Standout Nardoni and Soule..
    Soule was passing Mexican players with ease.
    The Keeper is also good he saved us several times in the first half pulled up several Dibu’s. He could do nothing about the goals I prefer him over Brey…all goals from the side of Stupid Vega who also gave up the first penalty after the mexican player passed him with ease he was frustrated and gave up the penalty.
    Barco at his position is a must.

    • it was Lujan who gave away the penality he is not even a starter in San Lorenzo. We have a great team but Mascherano is the worst coach ever. giay is a very good RB but he chooses Lujan from San Lorenzo. Argentina’s best talents are playing in the local league but he seems to be obsessed with foreign talents.

  3. Good decision. At least give chance to Benitez to be the GK. Dibu needs rest and can be replaceable. Another try-out and a moment to try new players.

  4. BENITEZ starting ahead of ARMANI means in the pecking order BENITEZ is ahead of ARMANI. ARMANI has nothing to do for the betterment of this team. He needs to go with PEZZELLA, OTA, ACUNA. After winning the WORLD CUP SCALONI made a remark that only MESSI AND to some extent DI MARIA can play as long as they wish. The rest of the players have to prove their worth. We have some great upcoming defenders who can easily replace PEZZELLA AND ACUNA. I think OTAMENDI will play his last game in the COPA AMERICA. I think VALENTINE BARCO can easily replace MARCOS ACUNA.

  5. Walter Benitez starting in place of Dibu. We would miss a character on the field. He might not be as legendary as Messi, but he is our last man standing. He is THE EMI.
