Europa League and Conference League semi final previews: Argentina players

The Europa League and Conference League semi finals begin on Thursday and there are several Argentina players that will be taking part in the matches.

An Argentine player will be winning the Europa League this season with seven players still remaining. Joaquín Correa and Leandro Balerdi and Marseille will host Juan Musso and José Luis Palomino of Atalanta.

Marseille reached the semi finals after a penalty shootout win against Benfica and Atalanta made the semi finals after eliminating Liverpool.

Bundesliga champion in Germany, Exequiel Palacios and Bayer Leverkusen host Paulo Dybala and Leandro Paredes of AS Roma. Leverkusen eliminated West Ham to get to the semi finals and AS Roma eliminated Milan.

In the Conference League, Aston Villa will be without Emiliano Martínez who is suspended and the injured Emiliano Buendía when they play against Francisco Ortega and Santiago Hezze of Olympiacos. Aston Villa eliminated Lille in a penalty shootout where Martínez stole all the headlines and Olympiacos also won on penalty kicks, eliminating Fenerbahce.

Nicolás González, Lucas Beltrán and Lucas Martínez Quarta will host Club Brugge in the second semi final match. Fiorentina eliminated Viktoria Plzen and Club Brugge eliminated PAOK to reach the semi finals.

    • Last year Mourinho was able to beat Xabi’s Leverkusen with ultra defensive approach. Both legs had only produced one goal. Today, not only Leverkusen were creating more chances, they were awared with a goal from a blunder from Roma’s defender and with 2 goals deficit I don’t think Dybala & Co can advance to the final, especially with the next game happening in Germany!

      Regarding, Palacios being benched in such an important match was little confusing. Hopefully it was due to minor injury and not tactical!
