Enzo Fernández commented on his injury situation, the Copa America and Mauricio Pochettino.

The Chelsea midfielder talked with Argentine journalist Christian Martin on DSports and praised coach Pochettino’s work with the club:

“When I arrived, it was quite a mess; there were many players. Mauricio gave order and an identity to the team. The work ethic is different. He changed everything, and the truth is it’s positive. The team is more serious and hard-working. That’s important for day-to-day, and when the weekend comes, you can see the difference.”

The 23-year-old also commented on his recent surgery before the start of the Copa America. He had been dealing with a groin hernia for several months.

“I was playing with pain and injections for eight months. I had to make the decision to have surgery; it was the best. I was harming the team and didn’t want to expose myself.

“I’m fine; people can relax. I’m evolving day by day, and I’m eager for the Copa America to arrive. I’ve already started training on the field; the recovery is advanced, and I hope to be training with the National Team soon.

“I’m very anxious for this Copa America; it will be the first time I play in it.”

  1. Enzo is important for us in Copa. But Palacios, De Paul and Paredes are shining at the club level too. Still Enzo brings in something special.

  2. The groin injury does limit mobility and add the suffering was going on since 8 months! He should have gotten a surgery long time ago, Chelsea could have finished the season in top4 with in form and fit Enzo!

  3. Roman Abramovich will laugh reading Enzo’s comments, Chelsea is in a big mess. Although, Enzo is the one player that shines in Blues. Poche is uncertain at Chelsea

    • Right!
I was thinking “isn’t Chelsea in shambles this season”?
I think Chelsea’s coach is trash. I don’t understand why he keeps getting prime time jobs.
