  1. Irrespective who are played by Scaloni as starting XI, the focus should be on pressing Canada like they do and also utilize setpieces. Some clever ones should be rehearsed for corner kicks with Messi taking the kick. Similarly for close range freekicks enough of Messi hitting it straight into the hands of the goalkeeper or way over the bar. He is no longer a great freekick taker. We need to have some clever plan like what we did against Beckham’s England or what Netherlands did against us in 2022.

  2. Now i am more concerned about enzo. A fabulous midfielder going downwards. For me he is exactly like riquelme. A lazy looking midfielder with impeccable vision and passing range. Scaloni needs to play him as a 5 as he has that tempo. Enzo is like if he gets more space and time he will produce gem of a passes from any where. Macallister is way more good in tight spaces and advanced areas. Its always enzo, macallister, de paul. Subs would be paredes lo celso and palacios.

  3. It has to be julian upfront. He can disrupt any organised defense with his pressing. And also with him in the pitch we have an advantage in the counter as he is faster than lautaro. With di Maria and julian in, any team will think twice to press us like ecuador.
Also i still think molina is a good full back. If the team is in that good phase he can contribute immensely.
After this copa, we have to integrate more youngsters as more team getting used to our tactics and utilising our lack of pace upfront.

    • I agree, while I think Lautaro is a better player, tactically Julian is the answer. Messi does not press consistently, so his partner must and Julian is impressive at it. Also as you state, we lack speed on the counter and Julian is our best forward for it. Only Nico, who cant finish, and DiMaria (who is past his prime physically) are effective counter players.

As for the comment above regarding Enzo, it doesnt matter how good the kid is, if he is off form he should not start. These games are won by narrow margins and you cant afford any weak links, especially when we are using veteran players like Messi in the team, balance dictates we need hard working, fir players in his position. Enzo had that at the WC when other midfielders didnt, but not today. Let enzo recover and earn his starting spot back.

Furthermore, enzo is not a #5, he absolutely needs a destroyer type next to him to be effective. We will lack steel in midfield and dull his playmaking if we use him as a pivot. Paredes does it better and macallister as well, although not his natural position.

We need balance and team work. Scaloni benched our leader Otamendi, I have confidence he will do the right thing and bench those not up to the task.

      Vamos carajo!
