Lionel Messi made MLS history with 15 goals and 16 assists in 19 matches.

Messi continues to make history. Scoring 15 goals and assisting 16 times in his first 19 matches in MLS, he becomes the fastest player to ever do it.

The Argentine scored two goals and assisted once for Inter Miami in their 3-1 win vs. Philadelphia Union, adding to his tally. The previous record was by Sebastian Giovinco who did in 29 matches.

  1. I agree with all those saying MLS move will help Messi’s body to participate in the 2026 world cup. Even in 2022, his move to PSG helped him and Argentina a lot! Mbappe trying to be the glory hunter and Neymar’s turf war with Mbappe helped relieve a lot of pressure on Messi’s aging body and he arrived super fit and fresh to the world cup unlike the previous one where he would always arrive exhausted both physically and mentally.

    Also, his third assist where he draws everyone towards him and creates a huge gap for Suarez to score was brilliant!

    • Messi did conserve his energy when playing in PSG. You almost never see him accelerating but then he played like a 27 year old during WC 2022. He’ still bombarded forward all the time in extra time of the final, scored his second, even sprinting forward in very last minute to setup a chance for Lautaro.

      I thought Messi played well in Copa 2024 , he pretty much setup both goals in opening match , hit the post against Chile , had some crazy dribbles but then they intentionally crashed and injured him. He became stiff in subsequent matches.

      While Messi can still shoot and pass well, he couldnt withstand hard tackles without suffering a knock.

  3. His partcipation in the upcoming WC is in the bag. His smart decission to leave Europe behind will payoff. Much energy to conserve for his age in 2026. Even the work life balance in his current state is additional plus. This guy is s genius. Only simps like crybaby would dare to try to match or rival him as they are clueless and delusional about thier limits.

    • Messi playing in next WC will be big adventage for the team because the squad loves and respect him alot. When Messi is there, they;re not only play to defend their country but also to win it for him. It gives the other players an extra motivation.

      The recent Copa final was the proof. The other players found new energy when they saw him injured and crying.
