  1. With Cuti out and the team having poor finishing against Colombia, not too hopeful against Venezuela. The good thing is that Messi might be back for both. Would that change our story. I am yet to come out of the shock defeat against Colombia. Would the refereeing continue to be that bad against us?

    • Shock defeat? Did we lose to Bolivia at home? Come on, bro. We’re not always invincible, that’s an impossible standard to match. We have Lautaro, Julian, Mac Allister, Lo Celso, plus Messi will be back, doom and gloom is not warranted. Cuti is one of the pillars, that’s for sure, but we should be able to handle Venezuela.

      • This is beyond joke how can you bother the defeat against Colombia when Argentina are world champion two time copa America champion virtually qualified for world cup , man it’s the best time to be Argentina fan , you should enjoy it or maybe you don’t understand football, there was a time when I couldn’t watch football at all because of Argentina narrow loses vs Germany world cup final 2014 , back to back penalties defeat against chile for copa America finals those are the days I couldn’t even open football Websites or social media because of those painful heartbroken loses
Forward to 10 years I’m enjoying football because Argentina nt is world champion and back to back copas also I enjoy watching so many good players playing cross Europe as example palacios for bayer Leverkusen , MacAllister for Liverpool enzo for Chelsea , licha and Garnacho for utd , maxi Perrone and nico paz for coma leo balerdi and Valentín Carboni for Marseille v. Barco for seville
De Paul, molina and julian alvarez for Atlético Madrid, Enzo Barrenechea for valencia nico gonzalez for juve cuti Romero for spurs matias soule for roma matias moreno for fiorentina who I believe will be good defender like cuti Romero
Man enjoy your football I don’t believe any reasonable Argentina fan should worry about the loses against Colombia or Uruguay during this world Cup qualifier

        • Colombia and Uruguay are the only 2 tough teams we faced in the qualifier and we lost. In the Brazil match too, they dominated proceedings. I hope you remember the miss from that tall Brazilian (I give it a damn whatever is his name) from point-blank. We drew against Ecuador in Copa. In Copa final too, our poor finishing dragged the match to the 112th minutes. We can either say all well if it ends well or we can say let’s worry a bit and learn from the mistakes. Anyway, we are far from the dressing room. Our worries hardly matter. IMHO Scaloni needs to worry a bit. I would end by 3 ostrich proverbs: “Burying our head in the sand like an ostrich” does not remove some signs of weakness in the team. “An ostrich cannot fly, but it runs faster than the wind” – our team unity and 100% dedication is our strength. So though I am worried about absence of Cuti, I am hopeful that others would put an extra effort to make up for that. “An ostrich egg doesn’t hatch in a day.” We have new players. If we want to win 2026 and create a history by being the only 3rd team to do back-to-back, we have to let our new and young ones hatch well before June’26. Specially we need new ones in the full back positions and someone who can absorb pressing in the front like Di Maria. Montiel was responsible for being slow to react when Colombia took the corner and James got ample time & space to lob it into the box for that tall guy (again I give it a damn whatever his name is).

      • I still believe it was a shocker because we did not play bad after we consumed. But our finishing was poor specially from Lautaro and Julian and on top of that there was biased refereeing. If we had played a bad game and got defeated, I would have felt bad but not shocked. But we actually did play well in the second half. We were a better team and we equalized. But after that it was a story of a team getting luckier than us.

    • We lost to Uruguay before Copa and we still ended up winning the trophy. We lost to Saudi and still ended up winning the WC. You’re overeacting over meaningless away game against Colombia. We’re still no.1 in qualifier and now up to 7 teams can qualify which mean we’re pretty much already in WC 2026.

Colombia meaningless streak proof to be meaningless as they lost to Argentina in a game that really matter. Or maybe 3 points matters more than trophy lol

  2. Enzo had an okay game not bad but not good enough to justify his price tag. His poor finishing has convinced his new coach he shouldn’t be anywhere near the goal and should focus on being a deep lying midfielder. If Locelso can stay healthy, he will be a better fit for Argentina’s midfield alongside MacAllister and Depaul. Enzo’s poor performance in the final third is not helping his team or the national team.

Guido Rodriguez was absolutely abysmal and was subbed out around 36 min mark! His lack of pace was exposed by pacy Chelsea players. I don’t know why he agreed to move to a fastest league in the world when he has seen slow players like Fazio failed in EPL. Not sure if he will get any significant game time soom let alone a starting XI role.
