Gotta say that Nico is impressive, the guy is versatile for sure, winger, fullback and even LB (once for Argentina years ago), he can do it all and does all of it right or left, hella impressive. He just needs to avoid the kinds of brain farts that got him red carded last week.
Palacios who can’t in our starting midfield would have start in midfield easily for the following countries, Germany, Italy, Belgium, England, the Netherlands and to certain extend France. That how great our midfield is , Argentina are going to win world cup 2026 just remember 😀
Medina is a decent option as left back
Medina is a very technically capable player (would make a solid midfielder infact) but he didn’t impress as a LB when Scaloni tried it a while back. The guy is a very good backup CB and should be treated as such while Scaloni really needs to callup Barnebei to back Tagliafico.
Palacios made two assist
Yeah Barco has been playing midfield the last few games and has acquitted himself well, the kid has talent that’s for sure and while I’d like to see him as a LB since you can never have enough for those given Argentina’s historical LB dreth I can’t say no to a good DM, especially with Paredes getting older and Perrone being the only one considered by Scaloni at this time.
Barco is the last we need in DM (with Perrone, Barrenechea, Equi, Milton Delgado, Rey Domenech) should play as a left wingback in Strasbourg to be useful for us.
Not saying that Argentina needs anymore DMs but if Barco plays midfield and excels at it (even though I want him at LB) then I can’t say no because I can never say no to any young player that excels at any position because talent is always welcome.
His composure and passing accuracy is not enough.
Mostly known for his attacking instinicts It is not entirely a bad idea to try him as DM and may end contributing to his defensive skills while facilitating his transition to a full timer LB/LWB.

Barco with an assist today playing as a DM in a double pivot! The kid is a swiss army knife, not sure if it’s good or not cause we need him at LB, but at least he’s getting regular minutes.
