Paulo Dybala speaks about his injury, family plans and the national team

Paulo Dybala gave an interview to Los Edul where he spoke about his injury, family plans and the national team.

“Everyone wants to be at the World Cup. It’s the best competition in football,” said Dybala. “Missing the last Argentina call-up was very hard. I was feeling great physically, and suddenly I had to stop. That hurts.”

He explained how much he cares about being part of the national team: “We work all year for a few games. When you can’t go, it’s tough.”

Dybala also talked about the possibility of playing in the Argentina domestic league one day. “I would like to play in Argentina. It’s something I think about, but I don’t know if it will happen.” On the topic of Boca Juniors, he shared: “My dad was a Boca fan. When Boca played in Córdoba, we went to the stadium. I know Boca fans have a lot of love for me. I see the messages and the old photos online.”

Off the field, he shared personal news. “I would love to be a dad. We’re trying,” he said, speaking about his relationship with Oriana Sabatini.

Looking back on his career, he said: “I had the chance to live a life I never imagined. I’m thankful for everything I’ve been through.”

For young players with big goals, his message was simple: “Sacrifice is the word I’ve used the most in my life. You have to focus and give up some things to reach your dream.”

  1. He was not picked even though he was fully fit is because Scaloni is aiming to further improve the chemistry within the team and someone unreliable fitness wise like Dybala doesn’t fit his project at this time. However, if Dybala is fully fit and is on good form then he will be selected in the provisional roster for the 2026 WC.
