Emiliano Martínez to leave Aston Villa, has offers from Saudi Arabia and two European clubs

Emiliano Martínez is expected to leave Aston Villa, having received offers from Saudi Arabia and from Europe.

Martínez looks to have played his last match at Villa Park on Friday, with reports stating that he will be leaving the club. According to Gastón Edul, the Argentine has received an offer from a club in Saudi Arabia and from two top European clubs.

He is expected to reject the bid from Saudi Arabia in order to stay more competitive for the World Cup.

  1. Echeverri’s debut was excellent. Considering his first match in Europe, that too a cup final, still he has showed the moments of magic. This kid is going to explode in next season if given proper chances.

    The best Argentine young player..!

    • Super debut..
Echeverri and phoden both came at same time but claudio echeverri impressed everyone and create more danger for city than any other player.

  2. Scaloni will have approximately 10 matches before the world cup to finalise the squad and to test the newcomers. 4 Conmebol qualifiers, 2 friendlies each from the October, November and March windows. If the Finalissima is scheduled to happen in March, then it’s only 9 matches. For me, the main concern should be the back 4. I don’t know whether Lisandro will be back to his prime before world cup after his crucial ACL injury. ACL injury always takes a toll on the footballer. Balerdi, Nehuen Perez and Senesi should be given more chances. Also, our fullback positions are thin and literally up for grabs. We don’t have many options there. Apart from Tagliafico, nobody is performing regularly in their clubs. Molina hasn’t been regular this season in his club. Barco has been playing as a DM in Strasbourg. Pablo Maffeo and Nahuel Tenaglia isn’t good enough. Julio Soler is still unproven. Bernabei is being overlooked. Montiel and Acuna are past their prime. I don’t consider Foyth and Medina as natural fullbacks. Foyth has been playing as RCB in Villareal recently in a 4 line defence. Medina has always played as a LCB in a 3 line defence.

  3. OMG is it the beginning of the end for us? Remember when we started to rise it started with Emi. Not sure how intact he will remain if he makes a move to Saudi.

  4. Regarding interest and offer from European club. Any team other than Madrid, Barca, Bayern , Juve and Milan will be a downgrade! Aston Villa might not be amongst top english clubs but their annual revenue is way bigger than some of the big clubs in Europe. The only realistic European destination could be Bayern but Neuer had to hang up his boots first. This leads to Saudi offer. They must have made an offer both Emi and Villa are having difficulty to refuse! And even if Emi goes to Saudi , I don’t think Scaloni will pick somebody else over him as our starting keeper.
