  1. I don’t know why some are worked up about last night’s performance? ARG already qualified and all they needed was to hold on and win and the crown of South America qualifiers is theirs.
I personally didn’t think Messi should have played because he’ll be playing for IM in just a week at the Club WC opener and like it or not, that’s probably the priory at this moment in time for him.
Play the younger players from the get go and see what they got and let all the vets relax, refresh and recharge this summer because they won’t have that luxury next summer.

  2. I thought DePaul looked like shit. Dude can’t hit water if he jumped out of a boat. We had zero control of the midfield. You can’t play like that against good teams. Palacios is no longer a fit for some reason. He was invisible. Simeone and Almada are the right youth for this team, as well as Mastantuono. I hope DePaul finds his form again. Barco needs to replace Tagliafico. We need to see what we have. As of right now Tagliafico is going to be left in the dust against the likes of Spain.

    • To be fair to both De Paul and Palacios I don’t personally think either of them were bad per say but they were playing the double pivot in a 4-2-3-1 and neither of them are classic argentine ‘no.5s’ and that position doesn’t suit either of them because DePaul is a b-2-b while Palacios is more of a CM type.
In the future I’m hoping that Scaloni uses a classic no.5 like Barranechea or Perrone (or by some miracle Varela) right behind 2 forward thinking midfielders like Enzo, Mac, Paz or De Paul, which allows them the freedom to bomb forward and support the attack.

      for example:

      ——————————————————-CF (Julian or Lautaro)—————————————————————-
      ———————-Almada—————————————————————————Gonzalez/Simeone——————
      ————————————————-Enzo/Paz—————–Mac/DePaul——————————————————-
      ———————————————————Barranechea/Perrone—————————————————————-

  3. Best players yesterday: Cuti, Dibu, Balerdi, Almada, Alvarez. Cuti was a rock, Balerdi very efficient, Dibu made some decent saves. De Paul was generally good but tired in the second half, Palacios was ok but played it safe, Enzo, Mac and Lo Celso take more risks. Simeone was useful but he missed some chances to score. Tagliafico slightly worse than we are used from him, Molina was mediocre at best. Nico Paz kinda invisible for some reason. Almada was the main creator, especially in the first half, he’s such a good player.
