Leonardo Balerdi on Franco Mastantuono: “He doesn’t have to compare himself to Messi”

Leonardo Balerdi spoke about Franco Mastantuono, stating that he does not have to compare himself to Lionel Messi.

Balerdi captained Olympique de Marseille in their 2-1 loss against Franco Mastantuono’s Real Madrid. A match where Gerónimo Rulli made 13 saves for the club.

Following the match, Balerdi spoke to SportsCenter in Argentina and commented on the 18 year old Argentine. Here is what he had to say:

“Franco is phenomenal. You always need to have him close by. We know that his left foot is very dangerous and when he links up with others, he can cause a lot of damage.

“He has to make his own way. He has great things to achieve. He doesn’t have to compare himself to Messi because there’s only one Messi and I think anyone who compares themselves to him is going to have a tough time.”
