Argentina are in second place in the latest FIFA rankings.

The Argentina national team moved up one spot in the latest FIFA rankings. Lionel Scaloni’s team won 1-0 against Venezuela and 6-0 agaonst Puerto Rico in the friendly matches.

In first place is Spain with 1880 points and Argentina in second with 1872 points. France is third with 1862 points and England with 1824 points.

Portugal is in fifth place with 1778 and Netherlands in sixth place with 1759 points. Brazil with 1758 points on seventh place.

Belgium is at 1740 points while Italy is at 1717 points and Germany at 1713 points makes up the top ten teams.

Pachinelli is one to look out for but the real interest is with Barco, he’s playing as a b-2-b midfielder and he’s getting better and better, much more calm than when he started (probably because he was trying to prove himself and now he’s a starter and is more relaxed) and his passing is getting better and better, I mean that assist was just lovely. If Valentin keeps improving like this then I see a place for him in Argentina’s midfield in 2026, especially since Argentina lacks a proper b-2-b midfielder at present, there are the hybrid central/attacking midfielders like Enzo, Mac and potentially Paz; then there are the ball keeping CM/DM like Varela, Perrone, Barranechea and Anibal Moreno but honest b-2-b midfielders are rare, so the like of Barco, Equi and even Mastantouno (I think he should be tried as b-2-b instead of RW/RFW must be watched and developed.
