Álvarez made it four goals in five Champions League matches, scoring three in his last three games. With PSV leading 1-0, Alexander Sørloth played a pass in to Julián Álvarez who scored an open goal to draw Atletico Madrid level.

Nahuel Molina, Nicolás González and Giuliano Simeone also started the match for Atletico Madrid.
