Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Juventus interested in signing Marcos Senesi

Interest in Marcos Senesi continues to grow in Europe, with Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Juventus all monitoring the Argentine defender ahead of the next transfer windows.

Senesi is currently under contract with AFC Bournemouth until June 2026. With the deal entering its final stretch, the Premier League side could be open to a sale before that date to avoid losing the player without financial compensation.

According to multiple European reports, the three clubs have already made concrete checks on Senesi’s availability. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that several top teams are closely following his situation, although a move during the current winter window is not considered imminent. For now, the defender remains focused on finishing the season strongly with Bournemouth.

At 28, Senesi has established himself as a regular starter in England. This season, he has started 16 of his team’s 18 Premier League matches, contributing three assists and receiving six yellow cards. Since arriving from Feyenoord in 2022 for a reported €15 million, he has accumulated more than 110 appearances in English football.

His profile as a left-footed center back, combined with his defensive reliability and experience at club and international level, makes him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their back line ahead of the 2025–26 season. Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported that Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone is interested in adding Senesi, while also noting that Barcelona have him on their shortlist. Journalist Matteo Moretto added that Juventus and other clubs from Spain and England are also keeping him under observation.

Beyond his club future, Senesi is also competing for a place with the Argentina national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Although he has only two official caps so far, head coach Lionel Scaloni recently showed continued trust in him by giving him 90 minutes in a friendly against Venezuela. Senesi had the option to represent Italy in 2022 but ultimately committed to Argentina.

With less than six months before the decisive phase of World Cup preparations, the defender’s performances at Bournemouth — and a potential move to a European giant — could play a key role in shaping the next stage of his career.
