Nico Paz scored one goal and provided one assist in Como’s 3–0 away win against Lecce on Matchday 17 of the Serie A.
The opening goal came in the 20th minute of the first half. Paz received the ball in the attacking half, battled with his marker, Ylber Ramadani, and turned to shoot from distance with his left foot. The ball deflected off the back of Tiago Gabriel, changed trajectory, and went over goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone, who was unable to adjust to the bounce.
Several Lecce players protested the goal, claiming an infringement by Paz while shielding the ball, and also pointing to a possible offside earlier in the move. The VAR did not intervene and the goal stood, giving Como the lead.
This was Paz’s sixth goal of the 2025/26 season, matching his total from the previous campaign with Como. Earlier in the season, he had already scored against Lazio, Genoa, Cremonese, Juventus, and Torino.
Paz was again involved in the third goal, starting the move down the right side and assisting Anastasios Douvikas, who finished inside the penalty area despite defensive pressure.
Paz was substituted in stoppage time and received applause from the away supporters. With this result, Como moved into sixth place in the standings, a position that currently qualifies for the UEFA Conference League.
The 21-year-old Argentine developed in the youth system of Real Madrid and joined Como on loan in August, with a reported €9 million buy-back clause that can be activated by the Spanish club in the European summer of 2026, along with a percentage of a future sale. Discussions about that option have been reported in Spain following his performances in Italy.
