Nico Paz continued his strong run of form in Italy, scoring once again for Como, although it was not enough to avoid a 2-1 away defeat against Sassuolo in Serie A.
The Argentine midfielder, on loan from Real Madrid, found the net for the second consecutive match and is enjoying a standout season. With this latest goal, Paz has now reached 12 in the league campaign, placing him among the top scorers in Serie A. Among Argentine players, only Lautaro Martínez has scored more this season.
Paz’s goal came at the end of the first half in a decisive stretch of the match. Sassuolo had taken control with two quick goals, but the Argentine responded with a well-taken header, beating the goalkeeper and placing the ball into the top corner.
Also involved for Como was Máximo Perrone, who started the match on the bench and came on at halftime. The Argentine midfielder played the entire second half, contributing in possession as Como tried to recover from the deficit.
Despite the result, Como remain in contention for European qualification. The team currently sits in fifth place in the standings with 58 points, holding a narrow advantage over the teams behind them.
