Argentina defeated Ecuador 3-1 and advanced to the final of the South American U-17 Championship in Paraguay, where they will face Colombia.
The match started in Argentina’s favor. At the 9th minute, Facundo Salinas opened the scoring with a header after a cross from Escobar, giving the team an early lead.
Ecuador responded in the second half and increased the pressure. At the 63rd minute, they were awarded a penalty, and Holger Quintero converted to make it 1-1.
Argentina regained control in the final minutes. At the 79th minute, Juan Cruz Policella received the ball inside the box and scored with a low shot to restore the lead.
The third goal came shortly after a substitution. At the 87th minute, Barrionuevo scored one minute after coming on, making it 3-1 and securing the win.
With the result, Argentina reached the final and will play against Colombia on Sunday in Luque. Colombia advanced after defeating Brazil 3-0 in the semifinals.
