Valentín Barco scored for Strasbourg in their 2-1 away win against Brest in a postponed Ligue 1 match on Tuesday.
The Argentine started the match and opened the scoring after appearing inside the box like a striker and pushing the ball into the net from close range. It was another strong performance from Barco, who continues to show good form ahead of Lionel Scaloni’s final Argentina squad list for next month’s World Cup.
Joaquín Panichelli and Aaron Anselmino both remained out injured for Strasbourg, who recently got eliminated in the Conference League semifinals.
Barco is finishing what has been his best season in Europe so far. Along with scoring his first goal for the Argentina national team earlier this year, the former Boca Juniors player now has four goals and nine assists this season for Strasbourg.
