No injuries to Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuña

Gonzalo Montiel and Marcos Acuña both had fitness issues with River Plate but they are not injured.

Montiel felt a hamstring strain during River Plate’s warmup and did not start their match against Gimnasia de la Plata. Marcos Acuña started the match for River Plate but was substituted out with discomfort in one of his ankles.

River Plate coach Eduardo Coudet spoke to the media after the match. Here is what he had to say:

“Acuña and Montiel do not have injuries their discomforts do not appear to be significant. We didn’t want to take any risks because we are playing again in three days.”

  1. I hope Paz will be starter for this WC. Barco should be included in the final 26 list. I would love to see Perrone and Soule included too and Buendia should be considered too, but if so who will Scaloni leave out ? Argentina has too many good players specially for middfield and up front too! Perrone been in really good form so has been Buendia when he has been fit to play and Soule was very good before he got injured, but have not see him play lately ?

    • Yes, we have the deepest midfield than any other nation… there is too much competition, obviously, there will be harsh decisions for some.

      • Better to have a glut than a shortage. I’d really like Aranda to go though. I think he’s the X-factor.
