Ignacio Ovando and Simón Escobar are set to be called up to the Argentina national team.

Ovando and Escobar are set to join Nicolás Capaldo, Tomás Aranda, Santiago Beltrán, Joaquín Freitas and Agustín Giay for the two friendly matches against Honduras and Iceland. According to Gastón Edul, Ovando of Rosario Central and Escobar of Vélez will be with the team for the two matches before the World Cup.
