Ronaldo Nazario calls Lionel Messi the greatest player of all time

Ronaldo Nazario has called Lionel Messi the greatest player of all time.

The Brazilian is regarded by many as one of the greatest players of all time and he has now named Lionel Messi as the greatest player to ever live. Messi scored three goals for Argentina in their 3-0 win against Algeria at the World Cup and Ronaldo was quote by Mundo Deportivo as saying the following:

“It’s time for the world to stop hiding and accept the fact that he is the greatest player of all time.

“He keeps delivering every season and in the World Cup. It’s an unforgettable and historic night that will go down in the books forever.

“Records are made to be broken and the person who breaks them surprises no football fan. Also, Argentina are the reigning champions of the competition.”

  1. Cr7 yesterday was doing a perfect CB job for congo
Bruno Fernandes was waiting for a tap-in, but CR7 read the pass and made a crucial interception 🔥

Then, on the final corner, he was standing beside the goalkeeper to help defend.

    The CB CR7 🛡️

  2. Enzo was Argentina’s best find in 2022. Who odd going to be this time around?
    My bet is on Barco.
    Any thoughts?

  3. Not satisfied with teams performance..it was just a Messi show..!
Too many mistakes/holes defensively. We should start defending from top..Lautaro,Almada was poor defensively..Julian and Nico immediately rectified this problem.

Midfield was not aggressive or energetic we used to be. Algeria easily pass them few times.

I am not satisfied with Medina..one time he was out of position and Almada was covering for him..Algeria almost scored. Another time he was just waiting for opposition to pass than closing them..that time also Algeria almost scored.

Montiel was ball watching for the offside goal instead of marking the player. Another time, when Mac Allister and Enzo tried to close an attack..center area was completely open..Any good player can easily shoot and score from that position..Montiel or Depaul should have covered there…etc

Hope..we will improve defensively..in coming matches…Big team will score easily if we don’t improve defensively..

    • Argentina just like always, tends to play better as the competition progresses and Scaloni tinkering with the formation and players.

    • Yes midfield was quite slow even in friendlies recently we had far more intensity.even romero looked so slow.new personnel needed enzo mcallister looked like a 35-36 year old guys saving energy.we really need to defense as a team.all 9 players except messi should have to defend and take those players who can maintain intensity throughout

    • I think midfield was good and did the right thing almost the whole match. What really concerns me – it might sound weird since we conceded no shot on target – is the defense. Romero was rusty and lacking in confidence. The absence of leadership in the defence was very visible. Maybe too early to tell, but had a feeling that this defense might struggle against high balls as well. You may not like Otamendi for his errorproness, but I don’t rule out Scaloni starting him in the second round onwards.

    • The first half and the second half were in contrasts. We did better in the second half. McAllister also grew in the game. We cannot afford to play like we did in the first half. That would not take us nowehere. Austria would learn from the Algeria game and ensure Messi is surrounded. Then we would need players like Paz and Barco to be aggressive and make scoring happen. The way Di Maria used to do. Paz was not good in his cameo against Algeria. But I hope he would grow into the tournament. Almada should be removed from starting XI and Barco should start.

      • Yes actually introduction of Alvarez nico and molina helped the team.thats why personnel matters.im not convinced about enzo and mcallister specially mcallister.including both means the midfield become so slow mcallister is not in 2022 level he is out of form and low in confidence scaloni should play either locelso or barco instead.we mainly lacked intensity.our ultra Pressing style was non existent in this match.

  4. Argentina was quite mediocre against algeria.our midfield looked ordinary.montiel was poor.romero looked rusty and out of match practice.lautaro again missing chances.almeda awful.emi Martinez clearly looked unfit and was fearing to aggravate his injury.enzo and mcallister should be better comeon it’s just algeria and we are getting only 48% possession?? Their passing was damn slow and algeria was not pressing that much.depaul, lisandro played well and messi again saved us.scaloni’s changes actually made huge impact apart from only nico paz who was not that good.molina Alvarez and nico gonzalez played well.our defence is a real concern.scaloni needs to change some personnel.romero looked off its better to start otamendi instead

    • Hello Anuparno.. we were really missing your negative comments since the last world cup. But you are our lucky charm.. keep commenting like last time please. Hahaa

    • Please continue this negative comments as it worked in our favour in 2022. Although I understand some of the comments are warranted, it’s not all doom. We need to conserve our energy. I hope we get more scorers apart from Messi.

  5. Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa😂🤣😅🤣😂😂🤣😅🤣😂😂🤣😅🤣😂🤣😅🤣😂CRYnaldo noooo

  6. Re: Portugal vs DR Congo

Why is a 60 year old who has performed dismally in the game still on the pitch? Highly suspicious. I think Portugal expect a last minute penalty.

  7. The team is not fully healthy and Scaloni is buying time which he can afford to do. When Tagliafico comes back and Molina rounds up to form defense will be solid. Same with Julian which fits a lot better than Lautaro for Scaloni’s plans. Crazy thing is DiMaria spot is still up in the air. If Garnacho wasn’t a complete shit stain professionally and personally, he would have walked into a starting spot on our NT.

  8. Apart from Almada and Montiel, others played well. Players got minutes and match sharpness should only increase from now on. Scaloni got his subs right. Molina offered more than Montiel, Nico Gonzalez offered verticality, width and protection to Medina. He was also involved in goals. Julian offered much more energy than Lautaro. It was also good to give Messi some rest and Nico Paz some minutes. Room to improve? Yes, but we made a loud statement.

    • They doubt us, but we’re here to shut them up, all those pundits, I mean, how they wrote Argentina off.

      • Almada was bad, but Lo Celso and Paz are not playing in the same position as Almada, none is suited to play inverted left-wing forward. Nico Gonzalez can play in that position, maybe Barco, but both are left footed and would tend to stay wide, rather than cut inside.

    • Montiel improved after the first 5 minutes or so where he was absolutely horrible. Almada on the other hand, was doing a thankless job but I understand why everyone is mad at him. These two positions will be the most talked about in our whole campaign and the main reason is our lack of options.

If we had a player like Di Maria, or a player better than Montiel they would have been in the squad. Unfortunately, we don’t.

    • I think we are harsh in Almada and Montiel. They are average players assigned to do basic work and they did that. We all know they don’t have outstanding skills or flares , nor their alternatives do. We simply don’t have another di Maria. Nico Gonzalez is a direct replacement for Almada and he’s average too.
But I have feeling that Barco or G Simione will rise up and become more regular as tournament progresses, as did Enzo and MacAllister in the last WC.

  9. This “red card” nonsense being pushed by Penaldo fans on twitter, and some so called pundits with a vendetta against Messi / Argentina (e.g. Shaka Hislop, Frank Leboeuf on ESPN) is getting on my nerves.

There was barely any contact. Messi’s foot movement was natural (i.e. no malicious intent, he was simply taking a forward step). The studs were down. It was not an attacking / goal scoring situation. Even the Algerians did not complain.

FIFA’s own guidelines say that accidental boot on the calf when both players are facing the same way is no card or yellow card at worst.

    • Thankfully the foul inside the box wasn’t called or we wouldn’t have heard the end of it, same REF. from the final tying to help Messi win AGAIN waaaa waaahhhh wahhh BS

    • Just annoying pundits trying to dilute Messi’s greatness. Cr7 didn’t get a suspension after redcard against Ireland. Nobody is talking about hakimi’s foul on vinicious.

  10. Winning the first game was extremely important, and although the team looked rusty and out of rhythm due to it being the opening match of the tournament, getting the three points was what mattered most.We are used to seeing argentina control games the way they did against France, the netherlands, and croatia. This time, however, the performance was less fluid, but Messi stepped up and punished Algeria when it mattered.

However there were some noticeable issues. Algeria’s disallowed offside goal caught Dibu napping, and he probably should have saved it. Coming back from injury, his lack of game time was evident.Almada, despite playing two warm-up matches, still looked out of form and bang average. I still believe Buendia or Soule would have been better choices. Almada is not a natural winger, and we already have Paz, who can operate as a left-sided attacking midfielder or forward. At current form Locelso would be better fit than Almada in that position. Additionally, our fullbacks looked very quiet going forward. Medina, in particular, seemed somewhat out of place in the leftback position, even though he plays there for Lyon.

Overall, it was a very good result considering this was the first competitive game after the World cup qualifiers. However, this team is nowhere near the level of the 2022 knockout stage version, even though, on paper, the current squad is arguably stronger.

  11. Let’s enjoy this muchachos. There are a lot of points of criticism, scaloni noticed one of them and made a change immediately after half.
But let’s enjoy this team and cup while we can. No matter where you are in the world, this is your team

  12. I was quite impressed with Rodrigo De Paul’s performance in last night’s match. His tireless effort and exceptional pass, which I believe is the best of the tournament so far, truly stood out. I also found Medina’s play to be commendable, though Montiel’s contribution did not entirely persuade me.

    • Depaul had multiple passes that were cutting edge, he did well on defense too. Messi tracked back more than I have seen in some time, which at first concerned me but then I realized or hoped that he was just so excited to be back in the mundial.

  13. R9 aka the REAL Ronaldo has always stated that Messi is better than him and the best ever, must be extremely hard for a Brazilian to talk about an Argentinean as such but it is what it is.
The team looked good last night but and I hope I’m wrong, Dibu seemed a bit timid to me, maybe not as confident.
Great start and the team usually picks up the pace as the competition goes on.

    LET’S GO CONGO

    • I’ve tried really hard from all my sub saharan contacts to get this Congo jersey. I’ve failed. I’m conflicted in if it looks good even. But I followed them thru qualifications and was upset they beat our long rival Nigeria to make it here. Was looking forward to wearing it today…. Vamos DFox! 😂

    • Actually, Brazilians find it really easy to support Argentina. Heck, they support Argentina more than their own NT now. Ronaldo, Rivaldo openly talks about how good the current Argentina team is, and how Messi is the GOAT. Only Romario doesn’t says so, but that is because of all the medications in his system IMO.

      https://www.lanacion.com.ar/deportes/futbol/no-traten-de-entenderlo-son-brasilenos-pero-lo-dejan-todo-por-la-seleccion-argentina-nid10062026/

If you listen to Scaloni, you’d see that he is always in love with the football old Brazilian teams used to play. Anyways, they suck now and their current players have a gigantic inferiority complex just like the underwearboy.

        • Wouldn’t blame them honestly. Right now, I am actively rooting for Congo and I am not from Congo lol. Sports does weird things to you.
