Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has posted a message on his Instagram after Argentina’s World Cup final loss.
Lionel Scaloni is in Argentina, having already spoken to fans and the media. On Sunday, the Argentina national team coach posted on his Instagram about the World Cup final. Here is what he posted:
“After an intense week where sadness mixed with joy, tears with smiles, anxiety with peace and nerves with calm, I can finally sit down and write a few words. Even though you all know I’m not someone who likes social media very much, maybe this is the best way to reach you.
“The first thing I want to say is that I’m sorry we couldn’t bring you another trophy and give you another reason to be happy, even if it was only for a few days and help you forget about life’s difficult moments.
“But I want you to remember what this group of players, my warriors, as I always called them when I spoke about them to my wife, tried to show you.
“Their hard work, their desire to keep going, their belief, their “I can do it” attitude, never giving up even when everything feels impossible, giving everything they have even when they have nothing left, taking criticism from people who don’t even know us, staying united and continuing to fight even when their legs no longer respond to what their minds are asking them to do.
“That is the real trophy.
“I will always be grateful to my coaching staff, my players, the AFA staff, everyone who works quietly behind the scenes to make sure we have everything we need and to every one of you for all the love and support you’ve given us.
“Lionel Scaloni
“P.S. Whoever has an Argentine friend has a treasure.”

I still think in final, Argentina was forced to lose. Everyone who had followed Scolani and this team mentality will defiantly not believe that how come this team played final like “not interested” Why Enzo got too much frustrated to get red card? Why referee didnt hesitate a single second in giving second yellow ? U can’t play final every time so this team played like zero interest is not believable. Di Maria comments on winning against England is like final are not joke or emotional. Conspiracy of this final will turn in to reality after sometime in future or post Infinto era.
They lure you in with a sleek, professional website so you don’t suspect a thing. I’ve been stuck on “Processing” for more than 90 days now, and support won’t even reply. Over $70,000 in, and I’ve been ghosted. It hurts to admit, but I got scammed. As a final option, I contacted Ghost Track Hackers Recovery. They took care of the technical part, and I actually recovered all my funds (100%). If you find yourself in a situation like this, please email ghosttrackhackers at gmail com before the site/platform shuts down.
They’ve earned the right to be mentioned as the greatest coaching team we’ve ever had, haven’t they? If anyone can rebuild this squad and carry us forward, it should be this team.
My only concern is that I hope they don’t push some of our players beyond their limits. Most of them are already over 30. It needs to be a proper overhaul. At the same time, we can’t afford to lose too many matches and fall too far behind in the rankings.
We still have a solid core of players under 30. They should be utilized well, while gradually introducing fresh young talent to replace the aging players. Ideally, the average age of the squad should be around 26–27. Above all, we definitely need a new set of right-backs and left-backs.
I love you Scaloni.
I love your players, your coaching staff and all around you.
I love Argentina.
Thank you so much for all the joy you have brought us these past 5 years.
Please stay on as our Manager and try to bring us 5 more years of joy, even if it doesn’t happen.
The team unity, passion and chemistry that you have built is incredible.
The last line about “whoever has an Argentine friend has a treasure” is so true.
God bless 🙏🏼 Argentina 🇦🇷 always.
He may not be the best tactician yet, but definitely the best coach so far for Argentina who has been able to get trophies for Argentina. His continuity will be very helpful.
It’s been a week now since ARGENTINA lost the WC and as disappointed and heart broken I am that we didn’t get to see Messi and company lift the cup with huge smiles on their faces, confetti falling from the sky and that 4th star BUT I am still livid because of stupidity and hypocrisy……. if somebody comes to me and says Messi did this or that, gives me a lesson about ARG’s history or FIFA favoritism BS ……GOD HELP THEM
As seen on Yahoo sports. There is a petition to ban Argentina from all future World Cups. The petition has surpassed 23 million signatures.
LMAO. 23+ million people are butthurt. 😂 Imagine being so obsessed with Argentina that you want to ban an entire country from every future World Cup. At this point, Argentina isn’t just winning football matches, they’re living rent-free in millions of people’s heads.
Hahaha 🤣 I love that last line.
What a weird bunch, hating on Argentina for some pathetic reasons ever since France lost the last WC to us. Weirdos truly.
Got round to watching some of Santiago Castro and he’s genuinely pretty good ngl – was surprised to see, but a wide skillset. Very powerful. He holds the ball up nicely and links play alright. Can score a wide variety of finishes with both feet; in the box and from outside too – saw a nice chip with his left foot. His finishing from outside the box shows he’s got good ball-striking. And also a great header of the ball too so is a threat from free kicks, corners and crosses. Can dribble and carry the ball decent enough too. Box movement is very good too.
Transfermarkt and Wikipedia list him as 1.79m tall, so around 5’10. However, I feel like he’s a little shorter at 5’8/9. But still very strong. He was giving Bremer a hard time which was impressive.
The only complaint I’ve seen from him as that he can be quite selfish and has jeopardised his team’s momentum by taking unnecessary shots and attempting unnecessary dribbles when his teammates are in better positions so that’s probably something he needs to work on.
If we’re talking trajectory, based on profile he gives off the vibes of a Lautaro-esque striker. We’ll see how he does at Roma.
His finall tactic was deplorable, shameful and he well deserved excoriating every lashes of critic for that. But Scaloni is young and still can learn a lot. What was even more frustating (because expected) to me is that he replicated the general mistake of letting himself to become hostage of his winning team (The title defender-trap) so that he felt compelled to take them all trying to replicate same results with same players. Modern football history learns that does not work cause energy, passion and trophy hunger of youth means more than experience. Young teams win the recent World Cups. So as long as he realized it’s time to start a new cycle should stay.
As Argentina fan do you think the team is sometimes unfortunate and do you feel betrayed by the politics, AFA, FIFA, coaches, referees and some players.
Our world cup journey through history started with a loss in the final of 1930. The best players from 1930 ended up playing for Italy and won the world cup of 1934, so we fielded a weakened team in 1934 and fights between clubs and AFA prevented the remaining best players participating.
Now it gets darker, we boycotted the world cup 1938, war, 1950, 1954 having some great players and teams who were winning titles in South America. players like Labruna, la maquina and di stefano were not used to their potential.
AFA banned players who were playing outside of Argentina so in 1958 there was no di stefano (top 5 player of all time), Omar Sivori (Ballon d’or winner) and the dirty faces. they played for Spain or Italy.
Then in 1966 Rattin got controversially red carded, 1990 playing bad but controversial penalty not given and given. Coaches excluded players like Ramon Diaz. Maradona taken away from the 1994 team, Redondo and Caniggia excluded in 1998, Disaster of 2002, subbing of 2006, Maradona as coach of 2010, Referees in the final of 2014 (Neuer and Hoewedes fouls) and no Di maria, Disater of 2018, and this awful game in the final of 2022.
just last year the AFA took a decision to ban young players who have not debuted for a domestic clubs but went to play in Europe or elsewhere and made their debut there for being called up to the youth teams. Other nations will say thank you!
AFA, coaches and some players used the team to fight their own agendas but didn’t care about the greater good for the team. Instead of having at least 5 stars on the shirt we have 3. Sometimes when you think about it we have overachieved facing adversaries from inside.
I 100% agree with you. There have been some tough things that the Argentina team has gone through. We have also had some go in our favor. (1978 Peru game, Hand of God, etc.) So I kinda look at it as a wash.
What I love about the Argentina national team is that they keep competing. We are favorites to win the next Copa America, if Scaloni did that, he would be the Argentina coach with the most trophies, right? And then we would be one of the favorites going into the next World Cup.
I love that we have a bunch of fighters, who have awesome skills and a coach that lets them play their game. (Except for the last World Cup final 😬). I love this team.
Why is this idiot not resigining?
this is an absolute travesty. fk u man get the fk out.
Funny part is he keeps saying that he’s loyal to this group, insinuating he will never give up on anyone unless they voluntarily retire.
Scaloni, we all sensed you would not bring the cup the date you left young, hungry and healthy players, the date you took 70% of injured/washed squad, and the date you benched talent that could change games for us, and that was the last nail in the coffin.
We don’t want to see tears and emotions, we need a practical contemporary coach to take over, please retire with dignity.
He should stay till 2030 world cup. I still believe in him.
Agreed! If not the best Argentina coach ever, he’s one of the best. Keep him going as long as we are reaching finals!
Greatest national team coach of all time. The record speaks for itself.
