  1. Still devastated. But I have a few things to say here. The way some of the people have been name calling one of the greatest coaches of all time is just pure thuggery and BS. Yes, one could question why throughout the world cup why was Scaloni’s risk appettite so low that we were reactive throughout the knockout stages than be proactive. Why weren’t we protagonists on the ball, why we could not keep the ball possession like its our identity, why we couldn’t inculcate players who could take the runs behind the defensive lines, where were our line breaking passes from our midfielders. All of that should be questioned, but I think that should be done in a more dignified way. How many teams have won 4 out of 5 tournaments in the last 5-6 years, been consistent in the qualifiers, topped the qualifiers, kept winning until they stopped at their second consecutive final? That being said, I have to say that things looked beyond normal during the final. And I am not going to get into meaningless controversies or conspiracy theories of us selling our souls to FIFA. Trump or whatever. But one thing that you guys should acknowledge is that the hallmark of “La Scaloneta” has been the brotherhood amongst the team members, the way they are ready to die for Leo, and for others on the pitch. The heart of the Argentine and the persistence to come back is what brought us all the way to a second successive WC finale. But on that day, when they went out to the pitch, that team looked lifeless, toothless, absolutely clueless. I don’t buy for a second that it was just pure technicality because of which Spain reigned supreme on us. Something happened in the locker room that broke the team from inside. I don’t want to know what it is, because the brotherhood is what was the biggest pride for all of Argentina and for fans across the world. That brotherhood is what made this the greatest “TEAM” this generation has ever seen. That was Scaloni’s legacy, to build such a unit, who would play for each other and automatically that leads to tactical cohesiveness. I can’t get over the “Forget everything” from Leo before they went out. The fire was missing in their eyes, and it almost looked like they wanted it to be over. Fear of facing Spain? Bull shit. This team came back multiple times from the jaws of death in this tournament, if anything it should have galvanized them more than any other team. Warriors like Licha and Cuti who had nowhere to go after the final had to prematurely leave due to a “Lesion”? And they left the field with virtually no emotion at all? How is this possible? And not having one shot at goal for 90 minutes, pulling out a Montiel who looked like fire, apart from Tagli and Dibu and then one substitution after the other that made absolutely no sense, one can understand one or two bad subs, but all of them(when we were still 0-0)? On the topic of Montiel, I hear that he has now made himself available for the match against Barracas Central this weekend. That’s 4 days folks after a gruelling schedule of a season, followed by the world cup. And why on earth was he substituted then? Once again, Lesion?? Even Ota I hear has made himself available for the match, how can they turn up for a league match and not be up for it in a wc final? The whole team looking disjointed from beginning till the end, not been able to stitch two passes together, 21 fouls committed from the oppposition team without one yellow card called, which of these looked normal to any of you? And then not one mention of Lautaro as yet? Where is he, why wasn’t the forward who looked the most threatening after Leo not get one minute in a freaking world cup final? At one stage we did not have one attacker in the pitch apart from Leo. Do all of this boil down to poor coaching on one day? We were broken from inside, that was evident from our faces from the moment we went out on the pitch. I know for sure something happened, but would probably never see the light of day ever.

  2. It took me 4 days to come on terms with our loss. I’m truly indebted to what Scaloni has done. But what happened in final ? I would have happily taken 3-0 loss against what I saw in the final. Please can someone explain what went wrong ? Does lo Celso would have made the difference? I was happy to see Nico in the lineup but what was out strategy ? We saw what happened with France and we didnt learn anything ?.How on earth we started attacking with one player less once they scored but couldn’t muster a shot with our full team.

  3. I feel really sad for Messi to win one World Cup. He deserves to win more. I am still in total disbelief.

    • he is gonna b back for 2030. the dude barely runs, its not like he relies on his speed. and at 43 u are at peak of ur stregnth and power.

  4. Can we comeback stronger?

Yes..we.have to learn from mistakes..never take any player who is injured or not in form to WC and just hope everything will be coming good.

Scaloni just used the core..and never given proper minutes to other guys in any matches before the WC..it was the main reason that he couldn’t bring other players last moment.

So, keep rotate the players in each positions, don’t stick only with some core players. Give opportunities to energetic young players. Let them learn your tactics..let them understand how we play..minimum 4 players in each position..take 2 who is most inform and fit…

I think..we have players in every position to compete for the next WC trophy. But there will be no new Messi…

  5. I believe that we will never know the actual truth of what allegedly happened, either yes or no and even if it did happen, what do you think is going to happen? award ARG the WC title like that BS that happened between Senegal and Morocco!

FIFA made it’s money along with everybody else involved and that’s that!
I love Messi just like I loved Maradona before him and maybe even a little more but I hope he announces his retirement from the NT and let the overhauling begin. Messi had ZERO to prove after 2022, EVERYTHING WAS literally won but as luck would have it, he continued to play and perform at his age unlike the buffoon whose still talking.
Unless something happens, ARG automatically qualifies for the next WC which means whomever runs the team will have all the time in the world to try and test younger and faster players without worrying about wins and loses.
Keep supporting and dreaming of a better future, Besides, a country that produced Maradona and Messi……..can do it again but it should be about a cohesive unit instead of individual talent.

    • are u an idiot? why wud he announce retirement when he is literally the best performing player in the world?

  6. Why Lautaro was not used..?
    Because..
    1. Lisandro injured…
    2. Subbing out Nico for Paredes..the only tactical option left…it was a blunder.
    3. Montiel injured or not fit to play 90 minutes
    4. Romero injured
    5. DePaul not fit for 90 minutes
    6. Enzo red carded

We already pointed before WC…the main issue we are going to face is unfit players and players not in form..just coming back from injury…

Our concern were true…Scaloni and couldn’t see this…

  7. As some pointed..Subbing out Nico who is not world class but high intensity presser, fast and have good aerial ability, and Subbing in hot headed Paredes was the key tactical mistake that allowed spain to take more control in the matches.
Montiel subbed out and Molina subbed in…we lost there.
It would have been Nico fighting for that ball not Enzo if sub didn’t happen..

I would have loved if Scaloni subbed out DePaul and bring in Simeone, the only change in second half..

  8. Worst Argentine player of WC 2026 is Molina. He was a culprit in almost all goal scored by opposition including final. Yet Scaloni keep using him…I am shocked..ya..Montiel is our penalty taker..ya he’s not fit..so..keep using Molina..!
Giay and Capaldo showed they can do the basic defensive jobs..but still coaching staff kept 2 unfit, non form players…

  9. Its been a few days now and a lot to process. So many topics. Continuing on what Dfox said below…

I have been watching Argentina since 1986 (very little in 1982). Over these 40 years (of my life) Argentina generally was never neutrals favorite or someone’s second favorite. Even not during the time of Diego. The reason being our players have not been good ambassadors for the country or the game, including Diego. They are often not role models, or at least classy and respectful in defeat. All these changed with Messi. This is why he is bigger than just football. He was a great ambassador for Argentina and the game. Earned love and respect across the world and all generations. Just look at how he behaves and how CR7 behaves.

You can say, I don’t care or give a f***. Well I don’t agree. And then don’t complain. Every world cup I fear that some of our players will do some bad act of fighting or abusing that I will not be proud of and cannot expect respect for.

There is enormous value in being respectful and classy in every aspect of life, even if the one in front is stooping to a low level.

  10. Let’s assume for the sake of argument that the rumors are true, why is it that the Albiceleste is always in the middle of one controversy or another, why bring unneeded attention and criticism for no damn reason???

Scaloni said it was just a game Vs England but it was anything but and that was fine during the game but why hold up a banner knowing that you’re going to catch a lot of flak for right before the final!
Dibu just won the WC and right there Infront of billions, what did he do with the trophy!
Enzo singing some dumb song about the French players after winning Copa America!!
Prestianni now notorious for racially abusing Vini that a player covering his mouth while talking to another is a straight RED!!
The fight after the final, who cares who pushed who or who said what to whom, the game is over and didn’t Barco say something to Jude just the game before!!!
How the players acted, Otamendi for one sticking his tongue out at Dutchy after the PK shootout in the last WC
and so on and so forth……..why can’t they just cut the shit and play without causing a damn scene for no reason continuously!

    • Or Parides kicking the ball into Dutchy bench!!!! I mean, just blatant stupidity, that could have had severe consequences on that crucial game, I mean C’MON

      • @Dfox1942

I saw some Argentina fans on Twitter saying Paredes still deserves a spot lol.

Argentina vs. Spain – First Half

Spain: 3 shots (0 on target)

Argentina vs. Spain – Second Half

Spain: 12 shots (8 on target)

What changed? How did the second half become so terrible for us?

People don’t talk about it because of Paredes’ viral block against Egypt which was grossly overhyped, but he was a complete liability against Switzerland. Our game got much better once he was substituted against England, and we became significantly worse once he replaced Nico against Spain.

His unnecessary antics, like kicking Rodri, also made the referee lose his patience, leading to harsher decisions against our players. That’s how Enzo ended up getting sent off.

I hope people start seeing Paredes for what he really is and stop overhyping his World Cup campaign. He was terrible overall, and that one moment against Egypt made him massively overrated. He contributed little besides playing endless back passes and couldn’t even complete simple sideways passes against Spain. Always looked vulnerable against pace and quick counter attacks

He was poor at the 2022 World Cup as well. Against the Netherlands, he brought the same unnecessary, hot headed attitude that escalated the entire match. He could easily have been sent off and ruined Argentina’s World Cup.

It’s time to retire him from the national team and never call him up again. He has been one of the most overrated and frustrating players of the Scaloni era…

        • there have been many overrated & frustrating players of scaloni era.

parades, molina, enzo, mac(did well in 2022), otamendi, de paul, etc and all them are thugs.

i rember the 2014 squad or 2010 squad. the players were classy and never resorted to this kind of debauchery.

this is all on scaloni he eggs his players & has zero control over their conduct in and off the pitch

      • Agreed these low iq clowns look for trouble. then start crying when trouble finds them.

just play ur game, beng aggresive in a game is not a problem but the rest of the nonsense is.

    • Man, argentina players are too emotional, they are part of the blame and need to stop unnecessary antics they have to be educeted.
I lost respect molina and paredes because what they did in the final

      • Yeah, it was totally unnecessary, and even though I kinda get why they were frustrated about the match, it was still unsportsmanlike.

      • Molina doesnt deserve any respect. coz that scumbag we kept conceding goals.

keeps pushing players for no reason.

  11. Dibu would’ve won another one if he hadn’t injured his fingers. As the tournament progressed, he looked sharper and sharper. What a great performance in the final. Hats off.

Also, kudos to Cuti and Tagliafico. They had an awesome tournament and gave their all…

  12. What about Tapia’s voice message? Screw this AI, you don’t know what is real and what’s not.

    • That’s a problem I have now. I want to see more discussion and ideas on social media, but I’m never 100% sure that a video or picture I’m looking at is real. AI making it easy for anyone to create fake images, video and sound is making it hard to believe what we see online.

      • That is a major problem from which we all will suffer on all domains. Technology is supposed to facilitate better living not manipulate our psychology or drive negative imagination. AI is like the upcoming virus that will put the whole world on toll.
