AFA president Claudio Tapia commented on the criticism of the Argentina national team.
Claudio Tapia spoke in an interview about Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni’s future. In the same interview with TyC Sports, Tapia spoke about the criticism from people. Here is what he had to say:
“It angers me that there are people who seem bothered that the Argentina national team keeps winning. It seems to be that it bothers them that the Argentine people are happy.
“In every match, systematically, something was going to happen or things happened that touches the most intimate fibers. There are things in life where you don’t mess around. When you cross a line, then you say “Which side are you on? Are you conspiring against your own national team?”
“Here, in every match, there was a different operation. We passed the first phase and every match that Argentina played, it looked as if something bad was going to happen. Always intent to destabilize.
“The national team isn’t mine, it’s everyone’s. In these nearly eight years of Scaloni’s project, the national team has managed to get people to share a family plan again, for friends to start saying: “Hey, where are we getting together to watch the national team?” or for them to go out and celebrate again.”
