Lionel Messi scored and assisted for Inter Miami in their 2-0 win against Cruz Azul to win the Campeones Cup.

Messi had a goal and an assist for Inter Miami in their 2-0 win. The 39 year old lifted the Campeones Cup, a match between the reigning MLS Cup champions and the Campéon de Campeones winner from Liga MX in Mexico.

With the score at 0-0, it was a cross into the penalty area which found Messi and the Argentine would score a header to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead. Messi also became the fastest player in MLS history to reach 100 goals for his club, scoring in 114 games.

At 1-0, Inter Miami were awarded a corner kick. It was Messi who crossed the ball and Casemiro scored to give Inter Miami the 2-0 lead.

Rodrigo De Paul also started the match for Inter Miami.
