Lionel Messi on the 2026 World Cup: “I don’t know if I am going to play or not”

Lionel Messi spoke about the 2026 World Cup in the United States and if he is going to play or not.

Messi spoke in an interview on Tuesday with Marcelo Tinelli on America TV about the 2026 World Cup. When asking about if he will play or not and about his age, here is what he had to say:

“I don’t know if I am going to play or not. It will depend on how everything evolves on a day to day basis.

“Age is just a number, I feek very well. I can continue competing and training. I don’t think about the future.”

He is presently with the Argentina national team in Atlanta for the 2024 Copa America. Argentina will play Canada in the Copa America opener on Thursday.
