Paulo Dybala turned down an offer from Al-Hilal to play with them at the Club World Cup.
Dybala reportedly said no to the Saudi club to play with them in the United States. According to César Luis Merlo, Al-Hilal offered the Argentine €10 million to play with them at the Club World Cup but he said no.
With AS Roma not in the Club World Cup, Dybala was in attendance to watch Benfica’s 2-2 draw against Boca Juniors in Miami.
For a club with their reputation, River Plate did not impress in their first match. Both center backs are slow and the wingbacks are past their prime, although Acuna had 2 assists. Against Inter Milan they do not stand a chance.
Mastantuono was pretty much invisible in the match. Many people outside South America probably saw him for the first time and will scratch their heads why Madrid paid so much money. Maybe it was nerves, because we have seen many clips of him doing well. However, he is nowhere near the level of 17 year old Maradona or Messi. Yamine Lamal’s technique is much better. Mastantuono has what some pundits call hard feet. He does not have the ball on a rope like Messi or Maradona, but plays the ball 1,5 or 2 metres from him during his dribbles. That will give defenders the chance to intercept. But the kid is 17. Give him time to develop.
I don’t get AFA league obsession with old players approaching retirements. Urawa red oldest player on the pitch is 30 years; in the contrary River are still relying on 39yr Enzo Perez in that midfield & pezella. That’s disgraceful.
Pezella defending is awful
Montiel and acuna looking complete mess defensively. River plate should be comfortably dictating this game. Manstatuono needs time to develop
I desperately want River plate and Franco mastantuono to do well club world Cup
Same for me.
