José Manuel Lopez scores twice for Palmeiras in 3-1 win vs. River

River Plate’s run in the 2025 Copa Libertadores ended in São Paulo after a 3-1 defeat against Palmeiras in the second leg of the quarterfinals at Allianz Parque.

Having lost 2-1 at home in the first leg, River needed a comeback to reach the semifinals. The Argentine side struck first when Maxi Salas scored early, reviving hopes of a comeback.
