Joaquín Panichelli continues his strong run in France, scoring again for RC Strasbourg in a 1–1 draw against Lens on Matchday 24 of the Ligue 1 season. The Argentine forward opened the scoring for his team at the Stade de la Meinau, registering his third consecutive league match with a goal and bringing his total to six goals in 2026.
The Argentine striker now has 14 goals in the current Ligue 1 season, tying Marseille’s Mason Greenwood as the league’s top scorer so far.
The 23-year-old striker, born in Córdoba and developed in the youth systems of Racing, Belgrano, and River Plate, is enjoying one of the best stretches of his career. His latest goal came after 17 minutes, when Lens defender Ismaëlo Ganiou played a short back pass toward his goalkeeper. Panichelli reacted quickly, used his speed to reach the ball first, and calmly chipped the keeper to give Strasbourg the early lead.
Argentine midfielder Valentín Barco also started the match, continuing his regular involvement in the team’s lineup.
With the draw, Strasbourg reached 35 points in the standings and remains just outside the European qualification spots.
Panichelli’s recent scoring streak has been one of the highlights of Strasbourg’s season. Prior to his goal against Lens, he had already scored in consecutive matches against Marseille and Lyon.
In a World Cup year, the striker’s form naturally raises questions about a possible opportunity with the Argentina national team. While competition for attacking positions remains intense, Panichelli’s consistency in one of Europe’s top leagues keeps him in the conversation as he continues to build momentum week after week.
