Alexis Mac Allister continued his scoring run for Liverpool, while Valentín “Taty” Castellanos also found the net as the Reds defeated West Ham 5–2 at Anfield in Matchday 28 of the Premier League season.
The Argentina national team midfielder once again played a key role for Liverpool, scoring his second goal in consecutive matches after netting the late winner against Nottingham Forest the previous week. Mac Allister started the match and made his impact just before halftime, scoring in the 43rd minute with a precise volley inside the box to extend Liverpool’s advantage.
On the opposite side, another Argentine also made headlines. Valentín Castellanos started for West Ham and scored in the 75th minute, converting a header from a left-side corner kick. The striker’s goal marked his third since joining the club.
With the win, Liverpool moved up to 48 points and into fifth place in the Premier League standings, occupying a Europa League qualification spot at least temporarily pending other results. West Ham, meanwhile, remain in 18th place with 25 points and would be relegated if the season ended today.
