May be Lopez and Alvarez could have started. Lautaro is completely out of synch with the World Cup mentality. The Serie A hat-tricks against Sassuolo etc. do not count here. His misses in the previous final and his misses against Australia were beyond abysmal. But anyway, my best wishes for him.
It is wishful thinking. Lautaro is a sitting duck for opposing defenders. It is a matter of personality and big hear. He simply has loser mentality if you’ve seen his CL record you will understand. Julián has struggled all season and is not fully fit. Scaloni has to surprise us and the opponents and he has to find that missing piece in his squad. Right now you can play Juan Musso as your striker and of course he will be bad but he won’t be worse than Laytaro.
Lautaro Martínez for heavens sake. He is worse than Higuain at this level, his legs seem to tremble in fear. No goals in 9 WC games and if you take away his 6 goals at the Copa, he has like 7 goals in 29 games since 2022, I am beyond shocked that Scaloni is sticking with him. Seeing how the older guys have performed at this WC, how many of you feel that we should’ve brought Di Maria in place of Simeone or Nico Paz or Lo Celso.
Give Scaloni a break man. DI MARIA DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY AGAIN FOR ARGENTINA. That is not up for debate, he has made it clear. So there was no option for Scaloni to bring him.
With Lautoro.. I think its just a matter of 1 goal. He is a prolific striker and scored a lot in both our Copa wins. The last world cup he was playing with injury and then was benched so did not play all the games. I think the missed penalty against Austria should have been given to Lautoro. Having said that hopefully he scores along with Julian
I think we will see a different version of Lautoro after that. Alvarez will start and Lautoro will come for 30 mins just like Copa 2024. VAMOS!!
