Lionel Messi made World Cup history with his goal for Argentina against Jordan.

Messi scored for Argentina in their 3-1 win against Jordan and made World Cup history. With his goal against Jordan, Lionel Messi became the first player in World Cup history to score in seven consecutive World Cup matches.

The 39 year old scored for Argentina at the 2022 World Cup matches in consecutive games against Australia, Netherlands, Croatia and France. At the 2026 World Cup, Messi scored against Algeria, Austria and Jordan, all three matches.
