Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke after the team’s 3-1 win against Jordan at the World Cup.
Lionel Scaloni’s team won 3-1 and every outfield player for the team has now played at this World Cup for Argentina. Speaking to the media after the match, here is what Scaloni had to say:
“The guys played a good match, we were able to give minutes to everyone and that makes us happy.
“Lo Celso was not able to be at the last World Cup, Lautaro hadn’t been able to score, we are happy for them. Now the good part is coming.
“Palacios gave us a hand on the right flank in ase we have nay issues in that position. We didn’t want to risk anyone.”

I didn’t like the overly non progressive passing and keep possession approach. It felt like Barcelona in 2020, keeping the ball just for the sake of it. Barely anyone was trying quick one twos, line breaking passes, or taking on defenders.
The best thing I saw today was Barco on the right wing. He brought so much intensity to that side. We also miss Di Maria badly. Right now we have almost no width, and it’s painful to watch everything being forced through the middle.
I really hope things improve going forward because we look very flat in attack, and it doesn’t inspire much confidence.
The third game against Poland in 2022 was brilliant. It showed our full attacking potential, and from that point on we never looked back. I haven’t seen a similarly convincing attacking performance from this team yet.
Palacios virtually as RB was very interesting. Alvarez’s form is worrisome. Hopefully he breaks the jinx in R32. Liked the energy Barco displayed.
