Claudio Echeverri on crutches during Manchester City’s training

Claudio Echeverri was seen on crutches during Manchester City’s training session.

Echeverri scored for Manchester City in their 6-0 win against Al Ain at the Club World Cup but was substituted out. The 19 year old was substituted out at half time with a twisted ankle and a video has surfaced of Echeverri on crutches.

Manchester City have not given an update on Echeverri. They will play Juventus on Friday.

Boca Juniors eliminated from Club World Cup, Benfica finish as group leaders

Boca Juniors have been eliminated from the Club World Cup with Benfica finishing as group leaders.

The Argentine club drew 1-1 against Auckland City and was unable to get the win against the team from New Zealand. It was Boca Juniors who took the lead off an own goal from Nathan Garrow but Auckland City would draw level with a goal from Christian Gray. That draw leaves them on two points, finishing ahead of Aucland City who had one point.

Benfica got a 1-0 win against Bayern Munich with Andreas Schjelderup scoring. Benfica will play the runner up of Group D which is Flamengo, Chelsea or Espérance de Tunis.

Enzo Fernández and Chelsea will look to advance to the next round of the Club World Cup.

The Argentine will play against Espérance de Tunis at the Club World Cup on Tuesday where a point or a win will take them to the next round. Enzo scored for Chelsea in their opening match at the Club World Cup against LA FC which got them the three points.

Chelsea are tied with Espérance de Tunis as both teams are on three points but Chelsea lead with a zero goal difference compared to Espérance de Tunis who have a -1 goal difference. Both teams play against each other on Tuesday and Chelsea need a draw or a win to advance to the next round.

Agustín Rossi who is the goalkeeper of Flamengo, is already advanced to the next round as they have six points and lead the group. They will play LA FC on Tuesday.

Boca Juniors vs. Auckland City at Club World Cup, what is needed to advance

Boca Juniors play Auckland City on Tuesday at the Club World Cup and there are a few factors determining how they could advance to the next round.

Group C at the Club World Cup will be finalized on Tuesday with Boca Juniors against Auckland City and Benfica against the already advanced Bayern Munich. Boca Juniors drew 2-2 against Benfica in their opening match at the Club World Cup and lost 2-1 against Bayern Munich.

They are presently third in the group with one point, ahead of the already eliminated Auckland City who have zero point but behind second place Benfica on four points and first place Bayern Munich who have six points. Boca have a -1 goal advantage while Benfica have a +6 goal advantage.

The Argentine club play Auckland City who let in 10 goals against Bayern Munich and six goals against Benfica. Boca will need to win by eight goals and hope that Benfica lose against Bayern to advance to the next round at the Club World Cup. If Benfica get a draw or a win, Boca Juniors are eliminated.

For Benfica, Ángel Di María is joint top scorer at the Club World Cup with three goals, having scored once against Boca Juniors and twice against Auckland City. Nicolás Otamendi also has one goal for Benfica.

Both matches on Tuesday will be played at the same time.
